Our regional SPCA, the MSPCA, puts out the cutest video profiles of
their residents: http://video.google.com/videosearch?num=100&q=mspca

I could spend hours watching them pitching their foundlings, showing
them off, and getting them to play.

What a great idea! I'm sure it helps a lot to get people interested in
adopting the animals.

They do seem to have a pretty good turnover rate there.

I didn't get to watch the video (my dial-up is too slow). But what a
wonderful idea! You can't really capture a cat's personality in one
still picture. I really wish our shelter could do this someday.  Maybe
someday.

They use both regular Petfinder profiles with a few pictures, and
those videos, so you can compare them.  The videos are really
top-notch, and definitely capture their personalities more.  Just
seeing them play, stroll around, get scritched, and acting like cats
is really wonderful.  They spend a lot of time on them, each video
usually at least a minute, sometimes as long as three minutes.

I can't stop watching!  I would like to take them all home.

I liked Midnight and Lightening, Armani, and that cute little white kitten
boy with the grey head.

Help!!!!

One of my favorites was Depp.  I'm not sure why, but the slightly
camera-shy tuxedo boy, I thought was pretty cute.  But they're all
cute.

They are very cute... Maybe Betty has a specific purrson in mind for you
to look after and honour for her.....?

I often feel nowadays that Betty's still here, just staying out of
sight.  I felt silly today when I was looking through the freezer,
calling Betty's name.  Of course she wouldn't be hiding in there. :)

When Sir William left for RB, I was devestated as it was very sudden. I
brought his ashes home and placed them on the bookshelf as I couldn't
bear to accept he was gone. He was around in a similar manner that Betty
is for you now - he was the gentle breeze that knocked my papers off the
table, the shadow in the corner of my eye, and the presence I could feel
but couldn't see. On the Easter Monday 18 months after his death, the
sun was shining in the garden and a sunbeam was warming his favourite
spot. Suddenly it felt OK to say goodbye and let go, and I mean
*suddenly* Sir William told me it was OK to say goodbye. It just felt
right to scatter his ashes in the spot. He's still around, but now I
remember him with laughter and joy, not sadness. That time will come for
you with Betty. Maybe not now, maybe not in a year, but that time will
come. And then it'll be OK to let a new furry master into your
heart.....and you can pretty muc guarantee she'll have picked someone
suitable for you. ;)

Oh, those three kittens - one grey and two black - the grey is the
spitting image of a certain Mere Kitten at that age...

I think that was Jason, Doug, and Gracie.  She does look like Mere,
doesn't she?  But did Miranda ever play that crazily? :)

Did she ever! Still does, for that matter!
