Now that we are 5 1/2 weeks or so away from delivery and I've gained the
staggering amount of weight that I do for pregnancy, I've developed a rather
impressive snore.  Not a delicate snort once and a while but a full bore fog
horn beached whale kind of snore - the kind that gives you a very sore
throat.  Almost every morning, I find that Fred has fled to the bedroom in
the basement for sanctuary.

Not Otis.  I wake up every morning with Otis two inches from my face and
curled in my arms.  I feel loved and supported by my cat :D

He has probably decided you are purring.  ;-)

My husband laughed when I told him that almost everyone said that he thinks
I'm purring :-)  I never thought of it before, but I could be confused with
a very large cat purring!

Sweetie!

Or maybe he's hoping that you'll inhale enough fur to make a muffler, of
sorts?

Maybe he thinks you're purring (hehe)?

Maybe Otis thinks you are purring.  Huey adores Rob and his beard.  He
snuggles on Rob's chest and rubs his head against Rob's beard.  Of course
Rob rubs back.  The two of them sleep with Huey's head in Rob's beard.  Rob
also snores on Huey and sometimes drools on him as well.  Huey loves it.  We
won't talk about his reaction to my dragon breath.

OK, between Otis and Huey, my "awwwww factor" just went through the roof.

Awwww! You'll notice that he has not banished *you* to the basement! :)
He is a good and loyal kitty.

Maybe the snoring just sounds to him like Meowmy is purring really
loud! ;-)

Nothing says "I love you" more than wearing earplugs at night. :) :) :)

Awww. I concur with everyone. Otis thinks you're purring.  Or maybe
Otis is a leeetle hard of hearing?
I've decided Biskit is. I dragged my accordian out and the other cats
fled as expected, but she just snuggled up next to me as if she likes
it. Go figure. Now *that's* being supported by your cat. It even drives
DH out of the house.

Way to go Biskit!  Otis sticks around in the room when my french horn
quartet practices too - so maybe that hard of hearing thing is accurate!

I just remembered an accordian joke ...

... the one about the guy driving the covertible who had his accordian in
the back seat but *really* needed to dash into the bank for a moment.  He
hummed and hawed and looked nervously at the accordian before finally
deciding to run in.  Sure enough, when he got back, there were 3 more
accordians in the back seat ...  ;-)

LOL! There's a guitar shop in this area, caters mostly to young rock
dudes. They sell bumper stickers that say, "Play an accordian, go to
jail. That's the law." :)

(No aspersions on your playing, Sherry! You obviously have at least
one loyal fan.)

LOL! No offense taken. The accordian was a phase. The reason I drug it
out was because I was thinking about selling the thing.  My accordian
weighs about 40 pounds, which is at least 40% of my total body weight
now, so I'm officially giving it up. Two cardinal rules for the
squeezebox musician:

1.  Do not attempt to play your accordion with other people around
unless you are prepared to get verbally and most likely physically
abused.

2. Do not allow any part of your accordion to come into contact with
babies, cats or those with perfect pitch or good hearing. Ever.
