Wow that's up here! I really should read the paper more.....hang on that's
today's date, I'll have to go and get the paper now!! I might find a picture
of the brave pussycat to upload for everyone!!

I love these stories. But this one didn't say whether the cat survived.
I can only assume it did, at least, I hope so!

I think we can assume the cat survived.  I expect they would have
reported it if the cat had "sacrificed" itself for the family.  I hope
they treasure this puss for the rest of its life.

The fire was very contained so one would assume the cat was fine.  

They deserved to have their face scratched for smoking in bed and
endangering their cat.
