I am looking after a co-worker's cat for 10 days.
His name is Nisse and he is 11 years old.
His mom said 9 but her daughter Agnes says 11. She is 10 and I think she
knows if Nisse is older or younger than her.
Nisse is all black and has the most gorgeous fur, short but very thick and
very, very soft.
He is staying in his own home and I visit him once a day. It is very easy
to feed him as he only eats Friskies dry, salmon taste.
He is no lap cat, but he headbutts a lot and purrs very much.
So now I can send purrs to anyone who needs them, thanks to Nisse.

Elisabet, Lily sends licks and headbutts to Nisse from the USA.
Have a very happy new year.

I'm curious about his name - since Swedish is a germanic
tongue, and "Nusse" is german for  "nut", does
"Nisse" mean the same thing?  (I've had plenty of cats that
name would be appropriate for, assuming "nuts" has the same
secondary meaning of "crazy" that it does in American English.)

No, nut is nöt in Swedish. Nisse is a common affectionate form of the
male name Nils. Nisse can also refer to a fairytale creature,
'tomtenisse,' similar to a leprechaun but usually nicer.
