Anyone try honeysuckle-scented toys with their kitties? I've heard
that some cats like it as much, or more, than nip.

We've got honeysuckle growing up over an archway in the garden, and the
stuff at ground level provides a lovely shady snoozing spot for both
cats.

Personally, I can't stand honeysuckle, but I have tried Brenna with
Lavendar. She loves it. It's almost as good as chamomile, which is at
least as good as catnip. (In ner not-so-humble opinion. YMMV) She'll
play with a stem from a sprig of lavendar about as long as with a cotton
swab. About 1/2 the time I'll give her a chamomile toy instead of a nip
toy. The chamomile gets her playful, but the nip makes her playful and
mean/careless.

hmmm, that's a new one for me. I wonder if cats who ignore nip would
be interested in this instead. No one here cares for any of the nip
I've suppplied (including some of the home grown variety). Maybe I
should look for honeysuckle, instead.

I have also heard that some cats like valerian?
Myself, I think it reeks, and keep mine locked up so *I* won't have to
smell it unless I need it.

I've never tried either of these, but my RB Mike was a fool for
peppermint. He liked catnip fine, but peppermint would send him right
into orbit.

Frank likes dried thyme. He reacts to it exactly the same as to catnip.

BINGO! I've been wondering for years whatit is my cats found so alluring in
the "Alluna" I take (it's an herbal sleep aid and I use it for my
fibromyalgia). They come running every night when I take it and will rub
themselves all over the package. I was looking at the ingredients last
night to see what it had in it and valerian was listed.
Thanks!
