I can't believe it!
It snowed. In Australia. On Christmas Day!
Not near me, but in Victoria, nearer Flippy & Dave G.
For some, it was truly a Christmas Miracle, A *white* Christmas.
Meanwhile, Melbourne endured its coldest december day on record.
But its snowed on Christmas Day in Australia!!!!!!

Yes, isn't it just a few days after the Summer Solstice in Australia;
the longest day of the year there?
It would correspond to June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere, if I'm
correct.

You're correct. I'm pretty certain summer solstice in on the 22nd Dec.

So how could it be snowing in summer in Australia?! That's just too weird.

Wow! That's absolutely incredible! It should help the fire situation
immensely.

That is so weird!
Where I am at the moment (Armidale, NSW) it was cool enough to wear a
jumper, and I was impressed with that.

OK the world is upside down! We haven't even HAD any snow yet!! Bizarre.
---MIKE--- - 25 Dec 2006 15:26 GMT
We have had some snow but it is all gone right now. The snowmobilers
are rather upset and the motel owners are crying. There will be a storm
of some kind tomorrow.

Yeah - it's been so unseasonally warm in our area that retailers are
complaing about the low winter clothes/coats sales!

No snow here either, and we are in the snow belt. I can even leave my
winter boots at home.

No snow here just Tornado warnings and really nasty severe thunder storms.
We have already had several on the ground. I have battened down the hatches
already

We've had more snow than I want to think about - 37 inches - all at once.
And more on the way :-/

That is bizarre! And here in Helsinki, the grass is growing green and no
sign of snow.

My sister in London is supposed to be going skiing in Italy for New
Year, but there is no snow there, so she was changing her plans to
tramping through alpine mud, followed by eating lots of fondu and
drinking schnapps (I think). I should have told her to come home to Oz
if she wanted snow!

Just rain here. It's a gray and fairly warm Christmas Day, near
Washington, D.C.
Enjoy your snow. You can have all of it, if you'd like. I don't want
it.

My allergies are going crazy like it is summer; Zak's allergies are
bothering him too (he is itching) but I still am quite content to have
winter wait. I have pretty much had it with shoveling snow, driving 100
miles back and forth to work in the snow, cold then slushy Long Island
weather, etc etc! No snow this year would be too soon.
