My son took a lot of pics of the snow today; so I set up an account
with Photobucket and uploaded 19 of them. Some of them are pretty
fantastic viewing. Some of these enormous drifts will be a looong time
disappearing. I just hope our drive can be dug out in a day or two. Or
I might have to wait until Tuesday to get my overloaded mail at the
post office. Of course the mail trucks didn't run for two days, so
they are behind and working overtime.

Blimey.  We're moaning here because we have dense fog.

During the blizzard was like trying to see in a dense fog.

If your fog is freezing it can be slick and very dangerous.

Yes, it was freezing fog for several days, now it's gone, yay.
The last time we had snow as high as yours was probably 1947.  1964 was
quite bad too.

Surely you don't remember the winter of 1947?

No, it was before I was born, my mother told me about it ;-)

Wow, that is a lot of snow. Is it loose or is it packed hard? Either
way, it's difficult handle. Kudos to Jeff for all the work he's done and
will be doing to keep you all safe and warm!

Most of the snow is dense. When Jeff was shoveling, he said the bottom
of the drift was looser. I guess that was cause the wind hadn't built
up enough to drive the snow crystals together. He finished shoveling
the pathway through the archway today. But it is only as wide as the
shovel. I am glad to say the shovel is wider than my hips! <g>

Jeff is going to borrow the landlord's little tractor tomorrow and
start work on the long driveway. Maybe by the time he is done with
that the drift behind the car might shrink enough to plough. I might
get out by Tuesday.

That's lots of snow!

We have freezing rain here tonight . I just hope there won't be another
ice storm like the one we got almost 10 years ago.

An ice storm is pretty on the trees but is deadly dangerous. I
remember having one several years ago when I was driving home from
work. All traffic was bumper to bumper at 25 mph or less. I was
practically glued to the rear lights of a semi-trailer. I figured if I
lost control he would see my lights whirling around and maybe helpme.
Maybe not. But I felt safer following close.

I wonder if that is what a lot of people in Colorado are saying right
now...We have a lot of people who just moved here in the last few
years from California.

I hope you can take advantage of the x-c skiing opportunity.

We don't ski. But Jeff runs the sled up and down the drifts bringing
in firewood. Yesterday when Jeff went to take pictures, he didn't get
the door quite latched. Robin got it open and later Jeff spotted him
running like a greyhound down the length of a long drift. He was
really stretching his legs and expending a lot of energy. But he met
Jeff at the door and was glad to get in by the fire.

If I put up pics of the winter weather at my place all you'd see would be
grey & white, as for several days now we've had freezing fog!

I hope everyone is careful on the roads. The danger of black ice is
proverbial. I hope you get some warm sunshine soon.

I just spent all day at Photobucket. I put the blizzard pics in an
album and then added several albums of the cats and the dog. I still
have Robin to add. It is so easy to work with.
