So time passes, Stormmee is getting wilder and wilder as time goes by... The
four older cats just are NOT impressed with kitten antics. So one day we
were in petsmart... they jus happened to be doing an adoptathon... and we
were oohing and ahhhing over kittens and adults alike... I suddenly
thought... and said to DH... You know if we got Stormmee a friend she might
not drive the other four completely insane.
And DH says, so what kind of friend does she need. I thought I must be
either dreaming or having a near death experience... so I said, the cat must
be very active, integrate well with everybody and most of all love to play
and Stormmee and the new cat MUST like each other. DH in his most
understated way rocks back on his heels and says, you never want much do
you... so the hunt was on... we looked at every kitten and none were right.
then adults, many lovely cats, one black long hair wanted to come home with
us very bad but she would not have been suitable then into the regular room
and on top was a great cat, had nice markings, and playful, but her card
said "only" kitty... huge bummer. DH really liked her... then the last cat
in the room, down on the bottom... His card said, a year old, likes other
animals... so I play with him through the cage, chew, smack,,, bite... I
say, plays like Stormmee... we get him out, he is lovable and sooo soft, his
card says white and buff bicolor... so I put him back and as we turn to
leave he reaches through the cage and grabs my skirt and hangs on for dear
life. so I say he is the one...
We go to fill out paperwork and someone already has. The woman suggests I
go to the kitten room at the shelter so we went there. There were once
again many wonderful kittens, including a black Manx wannabe who took it
upon himself to wash every kitten younger than himself in the room, by the
time we were ready to leave I had the Manx and five other kittens in my lap.
I was sitting cross legged in the floor and they liked the skirt hammock
lap.
DH notices a kitten sneeze then it gets into the litter box and has horrible
diarrhea, so he goes and gets a worker and she takes the kitten away to look
at ted, who just happened to be downstairs.
no suitable cat but lots of nice ones. We go ahead and fill out for Chester
just in case. Then I call the vet...
I tell the Tec what I am looking for and she says come over here, a client
had helped herself to the bridge and left 3 kitties to find new homes, they
were great but not for us... so a few days go by and the APL calls... and...
The people who were going to adopt Chester saw dirt in his ears and felt he
had earmites so declined to adopt him... so I tell the woman, they don't
deserve any animals...
so we make an appointment to take Stormmee to meet Chester, that goes as
well as can be expected liked Stormmee immediately and she didn't hiss and
mostly rode around on DH's shoulder looking at everyone, so Home came
Chester... There are lots of Chester stories and he is a wonderful addition
to our house... I am so glad those people thought he had earmites... a bast
intervention perhaps, our vet, says there was NO evidence of any mites,
