Miss Violette had been gone just around 3 weeks. I was still in great pain
and DH was very sad. It was a year ago at the beginning of November. We
had come home after a long day of work and the weather kept getting worse.
As we sat in the van having the last cigarette the wind kicked up so strong
that we figured we needed to go in and jail the cats in case of tornado.
There had been terrible storms in Indiana and even some killed so we were
concerned as it usually comes straight across the state. So in we go to
start the kitty caging but no!! wait...
as DH is getting the key in the door over the high winds we both here it,
you know, that cry that only means, help me, I am a little kitten and
totally alone... so DH goes in the house, gets that huge flashlight, you
know the one that takes those honking D batteries and crawls around under
the bushes and pulls out a tiny kitten...
We took her in and weighed her, she weighed 9 ounces and her eyes were still
partly blue. The best we can figure we startled mom cat when we came up to
the door. she looked to be well fed and pretty clean so we must have
spooked mom mid move.
Instead of caging our cats we went to Wal-Mart for KMR, which I had to
explain to DH about and he then proceeded to get it, feed her and now
Stormmee thinks DH is her mom. She ignores me unless he leaves the house,
and then its MY fault HER mom left. She will actually grumble and cuss and
run after him if he leaves a room. She looks like a basic gray torby but
has quite a bit of Siamese, she can jump very high straight from the floor,
wants her shoulder ride every day and talks and cusses most of the time.
I had no intention of getting more cats as I knew the ones we had were
getting older and that they will probably need increased medical care as
they age. That however is not what bast, G*D and probably Miss Violette
wanted for us, it is no coincidence to me that Stormmee was born right
around the time we helped Violette to the bridge,

A very lucky tiny kitten! Good on you for helping the dear little one so she
could take over part of your life.

you will if I can muster the energy she is a totally active one, and seems
no closer to being a grown cat than when we got her. Lee

Ah yes, most meezers are born with a sailors vocabulary.
In my experience, they take to men more strongly than the average tabby
does. Even without the bottle feeding.

yes they do and when you add the bottle I am not second on the list I don't

on the wet ground rescuing a kitten, Lee

It sounds like you gys found a good un and your kitty found her forever
home. She will grow to love you in your humble role as DH's assistant.
Once, a long time ago, a friend and I who had never been um involved
were walking home from work and heard whining from a storm drain. With
a flashlight and a great deal of luck we rescued a puppy that I guess
some bastard threw down there. The puppy got adopted the next day by a
close friend of mine and is now living her fourteenth year, having been
named Myrtle but otherwise well-treated.
I brought this up because my friend and I were "involved" for awhile
after I climbed down into that damn drain while she held the
flashlight. apropro your comment.

yes, It used to be Miss Violette so since I pretty well figure she was sent
by Violette, and she immediately, upon being released into general
population, tried to take over being boss cat, I figured it should change,
Lee... who though DH named her because of the night... turns out to be the
little monster's personality
