Well done for sending the cards! I haven't even touched mine yet.

You can pack in saying that sort of rubbish. Guilty? I gave up guilt a
few years ago and I feel a lot better for it. I suggest you do the same.
There is a place for guilt when you have done something *very* bad, but
sending cards late isn't it. <smile>

I know! Blame my mother for that - and she isn't even Jewish (is that
strictly an American joke??!)! ;>

Probably. Although my mother made me feel guilty most of the time too.
I think a lot of mothers do this without realising it. I remember I had a
mail from a friend about how her mother still treated her like a child. She
was furious about it.
I printed it out and showed it to my mother, she said "Are you saying that
this is how I treat you?
I said "Yes."
She was very upset.
Now she is gone I would welcome her interfering in my life again. I've
started to dream about her a lot.
We talked a lot about how it would be okay for her to return to me after
death to prove an afterlife. I said "OMG, please don't come back in a way
that will frighten me" and she promised she wouldn't.
I did not dream about her for more than three years, but now it's come back

now you think I'm crazy, I'm not.

{{{{{{{{{{Tweed}}}}}}}}}} Of course you're not crazy. It's hard to lose a
parent - there always seem to be regrets even in the best of relationships.
I know I've made a point of telling everyone I love, "I love you" *EVERY*
time I talk to them. If anything ever happens to me or them I want those to
be the last words said.

I've been working on mine for several days. Almost got them finished last
night but my eyes gave out.
