All your responses were very heartening, thank you all! I will reply
more individually soon, but need to get off the computer right now. But
it was helpful for me to check in with everyone. Even just to break a
bit of the isolation by saying out loud, "I'm feeling miserable", helped
in itself. After I posted that message, I felt a burst of energy, so I
logged off and cleaned up my apartment. It desperately needed it, and
the result of the cleanup was also cheering.
I do seem to have gotten myself into some isolation patterns, and that's
depressing. Sometimes it overflows. That seems to be what happened last
night when I suddenly felt very alone.
One thing: I wasn't trying to ask for more attention (other than for
responses to that specific message). I do know that people are busy. I
myself don't respond to nearly as many messages as I'd like to because
I don't have the time, or energy, or I don't always know what to say.
So I understand that. I had just developed this image of myself as
someone very annoying or obnoxious to others, and it finally reached a
breaking point. Why last night in particular? Who knows.
Thank you all for your patience and caring.
Purrs,
Joyce

FYI, I often get the feeling that I am invisible. I spent 47 years of
my working life in the heart of town. Some days I was greeted by almost
everyone I met in a three block area. Other days I never saw a soul look
my way. That is when I started to think I might be invisible. So now
whenever I don't get any response to a post, I just tell myself that I am
still invisible. Try it -- it can even be fun. Best wishes. MLB

Winter does that to me, too. Staying in too much, everything around
looking so brown and dead, and cold weather (which I Hate) is just a
recipe for a funk to set in for me. I nearly have to make myself get
out even to go to church. If I don't I just end up feeling awful.
I can't help laughing though; and trust me, I'm not laughing *at* you.
But -- YOU, obnoxious??? After some of the threads we've had on this
group, and you think YOU are annoying! You are SO not annoying, not
ever.
Some posts I don't reply to because I just simply don't know what to
say, either.

Joyce,
I'm wondering if you will come and clean my house so that I get cheered
up? :)

I'm a little late to this thread, Joyce, but I *always* read your posts. I
value what you have to say and enjoy your anecdotes. I'm sorry you aren't
feeling worthy right now but believe me when I say it, you are a very
valuable member of this community and we would be very unhappy without you.
