This is a wonderful horse rescue complete with music.
I wept all the way through it, sniff sniff.
Rescue many horses in the Netherlands nov_06
I hope it will open as it is an odd link.    If it doesn't Google it.

Wow, how amazing is that!  They seem to have a very strong herding
instinct.  They would have eventually ended up killing themselves like
lemmings if they didn't have those riders to lead them on the correct
course.

But don't you love those brave women who rode in and led them all out - it
was a risky business for them.

I didn't notice the gender roles utilized for the operation until you
mentioned it.  So it was a two-pronged operation with the women are on
horseback encouraging the herd to follow, while the most boorish and
obnoxious men were selected to land on the island by boat in order to
encourage any stragglers to leave. :)

You're right - it does sound dangerous.  Since the water is from a
flood, there are probably a lot of things hidden submerged, like
fences, ditches, and farm equipment.

I would give every one of them a big hug if I could.
