I'm not consciously afraid, but I'm having major anxiety over the
whole money thing, and I was up all niht panicking. It's morning now
and I'm so tired but every time I close my eyes I still start to
panic. :( I need calming-down relax-and-go-to-sleep purrs or I don't
know what's going to happen :(

I get panic and anxiety, too, so I know exactly what you're going through.
It's best to turn on the TV, lay down and eventually you *will* fall asleep.
Calming purrs on their way.

I find warm milk, Melatonin, and half an hour with a good
(enjoyable, but not exciting) book can be very helpful when
I get into one of those situations. I try to avoid chemical
sleeping aids, although if all else fails, Sominex seems to
do it for me. (Also, reminding myself that, whatever the
problem, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it in the
middle of the night!)

Relaxing purrs on their way.

Ohhhh, Barnabus is the best sleep purrer I have. He gets right up near
your face, he likes to feel your breath on his face and then he begins
kneading then purring. I start stroking his back which makes him purr
all the more. If there's enough light to watch his eyes they're like
little baby eyes. He purrs and kneads and very slowly his eyes begin to
close and then he'll jerk back and open his eyes really wide...."I
wasn't falling asleep, no not me", but then a moment or two later his
eyes begin to get glassy and unfocused and he starts to fall asleep
again. The thing is that while I'm watching this process and listening
to his purrs I fall asleep. When he's pretty sure I'm asleep he moves
down to my legs and stretches out (which I'm barely aware of happening).
All that said, Barnabus is sending his best relaxing and sleeping purrs
and Hobbes, Lacey and Sam are purring back-up to him.

None of our girls will do that... but Silly is a sweety - I spent the
morning lying on the bed watching television and trying to rest, and
she snuggled up against my leg and stayed put for the whole time! She
didn't move until I got up to get some lunch :) (I think she was
cold...) Really she's a sweety... when I first heard the news on the
weekend I got very upset and she came up to me and stood on the bed
next to me with her paws up on my chest and said 'mreep', so I picked
her up and she cuddled and purred and purred to make me feel better.
She's never done that before!

PURRRS on the way, this is a horrible thing to have happen. I hope they
catch these people and serve them litterbox offerings for dinner.

I will loan you the dark purrs of a headnox. It will massage you
through the pillow with her purrs until you fall asleep beneath the
small dark head which plots pain and suffering for your enemies.

Sending lots of anti-anxiety purrs. It stinks right now, but you WILL
get through all of this and be fine.
