Hi Julie,
Depending how long your holiday is going to be and/or if you just wish to
visit the one place. The South Island is beautiful, has great scenery but
better IMO in the winter time when there is snow on the ranges (great sking
there) Auckland is a very multi cultural city, fast and busy. It also
depends on what your interests are and what you want to do and see ,for
example if you were to go to either Rotorua, Tauranga, Hamilton or even our
beautiful Art Deco city Napier (where both Bev and I live) you are in a two
to three hour car trip of other major cities that you could do day trips too
( both Bev and I would love to meet up with you)
Please let me know if I can help in any other way.
Lois
PS: We have a spare bedroom and would be happy to accommadate you for a
night or two and of course to show of my clowder!!

Hi Julie,
I think Lois has said it all. Of course you would be made very welcome
here from both of us and we also would be happy to accommodate you. It
would be fun showing you around. I am sure you would enjoy sleeping with B
& C and Fluffy, lol.
People come to New Zealand to see the scenery and my suggestion would be to
take a South Island tour encompassing the West Coast, the Glaciers and in
particular Lake Manapouri. Let us know what you are looking at and we can
see if all the best spots are included. In the North Island you would want
to see Rotorua, Lake Taupo and the Waitomo Caves. Then you could spend
some time in Napier. Guess it all depends on how much time you have.
