Today it is one year since I had to let Hugo Katt go to the Rainbow
Bridge. He was 16.
I still remember the last days best. They were very hard.
Maybe - some time - I can remember the good times first. Not yet.

The day will come. Lots of purrs for your aching heart.

It was 10 years on the 19th that my Princess went to the bridge.  I'll
never forget...... but life goes on.  Sincere condolences.   MLB

Something I wrote to go with the rainbow bridge

Always remember We will be there even if you can't see us.
We are always Watching and Waiting. That cool puff of air you
feel across your cheek, that fleeting touch, the feeling you have
that I was walking across your bed, that moment you swear you can
hear us, that flicker of movement out of the corner of your eye.
Is just our way of saying I love you and I am with you always even
in the darkest time We Will Always Be There. Till our paws touch again
always know we love you and cherished our special time together

Comforting purrs on the way.

I found that I remembered those worst days first, more so if I had to make
the awful decision.  Eventually, only the happy memories will remain, but in
my experience it will take more than a year.

<reaching out over the Gulf of Bothnia> {{{{{Elisabet}}}}} It would have
been Frank's birthday on the 27th. This was a very bad time last year. I
hope you may meet another nice cat to share your life with.

I miss my old guy, too.  I was remembering him last night as it was a
cold night. Pan always asked to get under the covers and snuggle with
me for warmth on winter nights. And now he's not there to lie on top of
me under the covers, purring his head off. The sorrow will pass,
though. And one day you'll find a new cat friend to love.

{{{Melissa}}} And I miss my old guy. He would come and lay down on the
pillow next to mine, or curl around my head, a few minutes after I had
gone to bed every evening. The pillow next to mine still looks so empty
to me.

I'm sure Hugo Katt wants you to start remembering the good times
soon. God bless your heart.

{{{{{{Elisabet}}}}}}  It takes a while, it surely does.  You'll get there
but remember, you'll never forget Hugo Katt.

Hugs to you, Elisabet.  I remember how you cared for Hugo Katt and enjoyed
your stories.  It's always hard to let go.  We never have them around long
enough, even when it is a very long time for a cat to be around.

I'm very sorry that you're still hurting.  Hoomins are pretty tough
creatures, so we can absorb a lot of pain and still go on alone until
the day we join them again.

May the joy you got from Hugo Katt come to replace the sadness soon.
