My computer desk is in a corner-- one the left is a window to the
backyard, and in front is a kitchen counter-- there is a half-wall
between the kitchen and the dining room.  The cats use the counter and
my computer desk as an elevated thoroughfare between the kitchen and
the window to the back yard. ;)

Even better, they use me.  I sometimes sit in a rather
posture-incorrect position, facing slightly to the left, and my feet
resting up on the windowsill.  And when Dante was a little fellow, he
would walk up my legs to the windowsill. ;)  And he continued to do it
as he grew.  And now Stinky does it too.  I am just here to serve. ;)

LOL! I know how you feel - just a piece of furniture. Miranda uses me as
her ladder to high places. If I happen to stand near the high bookcase,
for example, I can expect her to scale my back to get up on it any time.

Oh heck yeah. I'm a human step ladder too. =o) But my main function in
life is "heated padded catfood dispenser." Oh, and I moonlight as a cat
masseuse.

Although neither of the boys are kitten-sized anymore, I really don't
mind too much, as long as they keep moving.  But at this very moment,
as I am typing this, Stinky is standing with his front paws on the
windowsill, and his back paws on my legs-- and there feels like about
200 lbs of pressure pressing down through those two little paws. ;)
