Today Waffles is doing her parrot impurrsonation. She is attached to my left
shoulder. I am having to do stuff around the place with a purring feline
attached to my shoulder ;-)

Too bad it's not Talk Like a Parrot Day :)

Someone here coined a term for this mixture of cat and parrot - it's a
carrot! Nikki was a carrot. Caliban sometimes tries, but he's just too big.

I feel your pain if she digs her claws in to keep her balance!
Kitty used to do this when she was younger and outdoor only (because of my
dogs.)
She would perch herself all around the place on various henhuts doing her
serious mousing/ratting stuff for most of the day.  When I appeared in the
early morning to feed/water the chickens she was so thrilled to see me that
she would launch herself off the hut she was on, straight on to my shoulder.
Then she would purr her head off, knead my shoulder and headbutt and
cheekrub my face while I carried her around for up to half an hour.
I used to wish she would be perched on the last hut, rather than the first
;-) and then I took to wearing a very thick jacket to prevent the pinprick
injuries.
KFC has always varied between being the softest, most loving cat in the
world to having a temper from hell.  The problem is I never know which it's
going to be and neither does poor Boyfie.  We suffer together and tiptoe
around her..it's for our own good <g>

LOL, it's cat-codependence! :) Not that you're given much choice...

We (myself and Boyfie) know that she is *very* old and we allow her to do
anything she wants, whether we like it or not.

Sounds like KFC was cut from the same cloth as my Baby Eyes (who has six
other cats she bosses around).

My only shoulder-cat is Abelard. He spends as much time on my left shoulder
as I'll allow :)
