Last night Snoopy was having great fun killing bedmice for 10 minutes,
grabbing with her teeth then bunny kicking. :-) Afterwards she snuggled up
to me and was *very* purry. Sometimes it's hard to believe she'll be 17 in
March.

Aww, another old lady going strong. Scritches to Snoopy, you protect
your Paw from those pesky bed mice!

I say "YAY" for all these old ladycats who show us all there is lots of life
and spirit in them yet.

Wow!  That is way too kewl.  Tanada just farts on me.  But then she's only
14.  However, Merlin, who is 8 this year was killing bedmice right and left
on my side of the bed a couple of nights ago.

I'm lucky, I've only known Snoopy to fart 3 or 4 times in her life. Cat
farts aren't the most fragrant odour around. ;-)

Let's start a thread "do your cats fart?"
Mine never do (unless they do it while I'm at work)

When Caliban first came to me he had the worst flatulence I have
experienced in a cat. He would climb all over me, all purry and kneady,
and suddenly let rip right in my face. Ugh!

All of the cats I have ever had have farted occasionally.  When I was
a teenager, we had a cat with a bad gas problem.  He would let fly
every few minutes.  The situation was made worse by the fact that he
refused to eat anything other than tuna-flavored moist cat food.  So,
every few minutes, he would let out a rotten-fish-scented cloud that
was almost dense enough to see.  The stench was bad enough that the
cat would get up and leave the room, presumably in search of fresh
air.  Sometimes he would glare at the nearest human, as if he were
trying to shift the blame for the smell.

Tell the truth John  it was you and you blamed the cat ;-)

LOL, that reminds me of Britta's post about Vino's one and only fart,
where he immediately turned around and glared at his own butt. Well, at
least he put the blame in the right place. :)

My cats are pretty decent in that department - it doesn't happen very
often around here. On the other hand, a good friend of mine has a dog
who's on some kind of special dog food, and hoo man, when he lets one
rip, it's advisable not to breathe. And I see this dog frequently because
I'm often going with him and his mom for walks. (The ride to the park
is the worst!)

Mine don't seem to, not since they were kittens.  Both of them had
tummy troubles as little boys, so I got to think that kittens came
equipped with wobbly, gassy tummies and stinky poops.

Tanada is currently my only consistently farting cat.  Pine Cone had the
nastiest gas when he was a kitten, before we removed him from Iams Kitten
Food.  He used to climb on one of the kids' laps and they would let him sit
there until he farted at them.  They would then pass him to the next victim.
I suspect they all let one rip at times.

Speedy the d-thing, in the words of Amanda (my daughter), "farts like
crazy."  Everyone is agreed that Speedy's farts rival the ones that Rob, the
d-husband, produces.

A school friend had a Labrador Retreiver that was a gassy dog.  He
could drive you from the room.  I've never had a gassy cat.  The
litterbox offerings are bad enough.  When we used to feed our cats
Puss-in-Boots cat food they would have incredibly fishy catfood
breath.  This was easily 40 tears ago.  I looked for Puss-in-Boots not
too long ago and was surprised to find it still on store shelves.

Kind of like tear gas? :)

That, in fact, is the brand of cat food (and the time period) I am
talking about.  Believe me, the "incredibly fishy" smell was even
worse in the form of cat farts.
