? Why would you need an excuse?

Ok. None of our cats will eat peanut brittle and we wouldn't give it to
them anyway. On the other paw, Bear would love peanut brittle and so
would Buy Run but we don't think it is good for d*gs. So, do you have a
peanut brittle recipe that would be good for not giving to cats. Or
d^gs either.

Peanut Brittle (note: not good for cats, dogs or even humans but it's still
good)

1 c. white granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. water
1 c. raw spanish peanuts (skins on)
2 Tbs. softened butter

Grease a cookie sheet (I use butter to grease the pan.) In a heavy saucepan
on medium heat, bring the sugar, corn syrup and water to a boil.  Stir until
sugar dissolves. Stir in raw peanuts; set candy thermometer in place.
Stirring frequently, cook until temp. reaches 300F degrees.  Remove from
heat.  Immediately stir in butter and baking soda.  Pour at once onto
greased cookie sheet. Spread with a pair of forks into a rectangle shape.
Let cool. Snap into pieces.  Store tightly covered.  Makes l lb.

Will,
LOL! That was great.  Sorry I had to snip, but I'm unable to send  and get
an error message if the message is longer than the response.

I was tempted to read it to Cinder and Rosie, but I don't want to give them
any ideas.

I used to make batches of this to give as gifts.  It was always very well
received!
