When Brandy's foster-mama Marilyn had our little Candy-Bit, the hoolikitten
who was to become our youngest Baby had a playmate in Marilyn's little dog
Mopsy. The two did everything together--eating, sleeping, wrasslin and
chasing--until the day Louie and I adopted our Brandy.
We just learned that Mopsy crossed the RB a few days ago, I believe of
complications to the liver. The little one was almost sixteen which made this
one venerable doggie.
Mopsy taught a little feral kitten to play and love and not give a damn about
species. Nations could learn a lesson from them. Even now Brandy comes to
lick us on our hands and faces like a happy puppy, and is a generous serving
of sweetness to everyone she meets. Heck of a long way for a feral to come!
I think Brandy must have known something; a few days ago she was even more
clingy and demanding of our attention than usual, and just wanted cuddling
instead of physical play.
Please send a few for this little dog whom I'd never had the pleasure of
meeting, but who helped
shape my littlest one into her sweet self.
Blessed be,
Baha

Purrs on the way for the sweet little dog. I still miss my small mutt
Sampson every day. Persia has helped fill the empty space in my life but
Sammy was around for almost 18 years, from the time I was 21 until I was
nearly 40, so losing him was hard.

Purrs being sent for Mopsy, she sounds a very sweet dog.

We got a call from Marilyn the other day. It seems that Mopsy has touched
other furry little lives too.
In addition to a large clowder Marilyn fosters, she has cats of her own and
one of them was also Mopsy's buddy. This kitty decided to engage in a
friendly game of wrasslin with one of his companions, and let out a little
"arf!" in the middle of a full-nelson, just like Brandy does sometimes. It
did her heart good, I think--Marilyn's, I mean; working (ahem) like a dog in
a job she loathes, just having lost her dear little dog, and coming home to
the kind of Arf you can only get from a Westie.
When we lost Fritzie (3 years ago next week) we mourned his intelligence and
loud mouth as well as his sweet, wise nature. Sometimes it seems that he sent
some of himself packed up in his successors: Stosh has his alert, guard-cat
attitude and plays with my bracelet like a handle the way Fritzie did; Roxie
has the intellect, Brandy the outgoing nature, Odessa the quiet wisdom and
Sabrina definately has the mouth. And all our five have all of these
qualities in varying degrees. I wonder what Fritzie knew when he was going
into retirement, and what he told those who followed in his pawsteps?
Blessed be,
Baha
