He's three months old now and starting to look around and notice things and
smile a lot. He's not old enough to reach out and grab yet, but the cats
are keeping their distance, anyway.
There was one time, though, when I was holding the baby (who was tiny) and
Rosie joined him on my lap.He seemed to enjoy feeling her fur with his hand,
but, I'm sure he only associated it as something interesting that happened
to be next to his hand.

That sounds very sweet, Annie. Sounds like Rosie is a getting used to
that strange new bundle in a blanket.
I'll bet those cats are anxious to get back on the boat and smell fresh
fish on the wind...

Hi Rhonda,
The cats seem to be fine in the apartment. Although it is small, they have
some more room for zoomies and are making the best of it. They also enjoy
the tall scratching post we got them and sitting on the window sills.
We brought the snakes Pam made them and some other toys they enjoy.
We are lucky that they seem to settle in wherever we take them.

Sounds like you have a couple of great cats. They are living an
adventure with you and having fun at the same time! I can't wait until
they publish their memoirs.

I'm keeping a journal of our boat trip. I've posted snippets of it on this
group. The Cruising Cats saga will continue next spring.
I hadn't thought of keeping a journal of this part on land.
This year, Rosie and Cinder have traveled about 2400 miles on water and 4000
on land. They have not traveled by air yet.
The water part took longer because we went a lot slower. Covering 50
miles by water was a long day. By land, we covered about 500 miles a day.
