You all know by now that Stinky and Dante have an uneasy peace.  They
get along, but I wouldn't call them friends.  There is usually at
least once hissing/bopping incident a day.  Stinky has never ceased to
look askance at Dante's antics.  It's no good to remind him that he
was approximately 20X the hoolikit in his time that Dante was.

Dante is an energetic little booger, but he has never matched the
glory of the Thanksgiving dinner turkey abduction, the Running of the
Bagel, or the famous walk along the top of the closet doors. ;)
Still, Stinky has stepped readily into the role of dignified
gentleman, who is shocked, *shocked* at this cheeky little bugger's
impudence. ;)

So when I walked in last night, I was shocked myself, to see them
sharing the daybed, no more than about six inches apart.  Not
snuggling ("EEWWWWWWW!" Stinky just said), but pretty close, anyway.
"Hey," I said to Mom, "check this out!"  I have always suspected that
a lot of the hissing and bopping is for my benefit, and that they do a
lot less of it when I'm *not* around.  Sure enough, Mom shrugged.
"You weren't around to fight over," she said.

I think that describes Pearl and Sugar's 'tude too. If I'm not there, it's
no big deal.

Buy Run, the Pomeranian, often barks at and annoys the cats. So much so
that Bear (the Lab) has gotten between them and pushed Buy Run away. So
everybody figures this is total enmity.

Yesterday, I had to go up to Micki's room because her damn alarm clock
started beeping for no (known) reason. It is very normal to find four
of the cats (not WooToo because she is in my room) on the bed having a
slumber party. In this case, I knew that Winnie was downstairs hanging
out with Bear in the kitchen by the water-bowl. So I expected to see
Maggy May, Sunrise and Missy having s'mores and otherwise enjoying
their leasure.

Well, as you have guessed by now, there were four little figures sacked
out in Micki's bed. The three cats and Buy Run. He had his head
practically ON Maggie May. Sound asleep.

I don't think they fight "over" me so much as they're showing off
"for" me, especially Dante.  It's like he's saying "Look what a big
strong boy I am."
