...the fear being Kumani's, the loathing being Tyche's.

Sisters went to the vet today.  Kumani was so scared she peed herself.
Tyche was so angry about her sister's terror that she spent Kumani's
examination circling the office, growling and snarling.  At her turn,
she hissed and spat so much, they tried to put a shakespeare collar on
her to protect the vet and assistant from being bit.  She threw a fit
like a seizure, writhing so violently they had to take it off lest she
seriously injure herself.  Once it was off, she bit the vet.

Tyche is officially obsese, her weight skyrocketing by .8 of a kilo.
Kumani has mercifully maintained her weight and been healthy.  The vet
does not want me to put Tyche on a reducing diet on account of Kumani
and Smokey not being able to afford to lose weight, so instead I am to
feed w/d and fiber diet and he gave me a little cup so I am making a
proper portion size instead of just letting them eat until they think
they are full.  I will feed twice a day now instead of once, and I may
have to watch Tyche so she doesn't hoover all the food before Nox and
Kumani can have any.

In the good news, both have immaculate teeth.  Tyche's in particular
are exceptionally effective....

Oh dear, just for an EXAM?  For something like that, i would have
expected the vet to opt to sedate her.  Sheesh!

purrs for the poor vet

Glad to hear though that the sisters are nice and healthy.  Hope Tyche
likes the w/d.

Oh my! I'm so grateful my cats are such angels at the vet. OK, Caliban's
not a perfect angel, but at least he doesn't get vicious. Purrs for
Kumani and Tyche who had quite an ordeal. And weight-loss purrs for Kumani.

Oh my!  Sounds like most vets' experience with Bandit.  I had trouble
finding a vet who would give her a proper examination - most were so
afraid for life and limb that they weren't very thorough.  My current
vet is good with "difficult" cats and her tech is even better at
handling her.

I just love your bittie stories.

Tyche is just like Ted (RB) used to be at the vet.  In fact, we had a
vet nurse to look after her at our home when we were away (Ted was
diabetic and needed twice-daily injections; a problem if we had to be
away). The vet nurse, who had only previously experience Ted at the
vet as a hissin', spittin', bitin' hellion, could NOT BELIEVE what a
sweet and gentle cat Ted was at home. As an old cat (roughly 15), Ted
put her single remaining canine through a vet nurse's thumb.  Silly
vet nurse thought an old, sick cat would be easier to handle, despite
having been warned about her.

Our current pair are angels at the vet. When Spocky spent the better
part of two weeks at the vet after complications from urinary blockage
and had the whole vet staff charmed with his manners.  Persephone is a
sweetie no matter where she is.

And Lesley thinks that Dave is bad to TEDs....
