OOOOH! I bet he'd give the Guvinator a run for his money.

What would be the platform you cats would run on if they were up for
election?

Shmogg would be about dog and toddler control and be very much pro-sunbeam.

Nanki-Poo's motto would be, "A rocking chair for every cat.  (He saw it
first, and he and Lindy have been vying for possession of my grandmother's
rocking chair ever since I got it.)

Oh Gods.

Smokey's an anti-environmentalist.  His second move would be to 'ban
outside' by enclosing the entire planet under a climate-controlled
roof.  (That's right after the mandatory ham law passed.)

Tyche's an isolationist.  Basically, anyone entering her territory
would be shot.  Hopefully her country/province/whatever she's governing
isnt' much bigger than a typical 2 person dwelling.

Kumani would strictly outlaw the use of needles, thermometers, and
actually any practitioning of medicine (particularly vets) in favour of
faith healing through feline mojo.

Nocturne...tireless crusader for the repeal of all human rights and
president, queen, deity and dictator for life of the Feline World
Order, need I say more?  "Imagine a paw stamping down on a human
face...forever."  (with apologies to Orwell)

Perhaps Smokey would be interested in a T-shirt
I bought in the Haight/Ashbury district in San Francisco
once.  It says "PAVE THE PLANET....one world,
one people, one slab of asphalt".

Yeah, Smokey went from feral survivalist to urbanite pretty quickly.
Paving would certainly get rid of "those horrible tree things," but in
order to eliminate weather, a giant dome would still be required.  :)

Also on his hit list are dumptrucks and coyotes.

No kidding! Where was he when we needed him?? :)

Here in California, we used to have a governor called "Governor Moonbeam"
(aka Jerry Brown - USians will know who that is). Actually, I shouldn't
say "we", because that was long before I moved here. He was considered kind
of a flaky new-ager, he dated the singer Linda Ronstadt, etc, which for
some reason cemented his image as an out-there California weirdo, although
I don't understand why - Linda Ronstadt seems like a decent person to me!

Oh... you said "Catifornia"... <Letelier> Never Mind. </Letelier>

Persia would absolutely be pro-sunbeam and pro-pillows in said sunbeams.
Also pro fireplaces (it's 35F outside and too late for me to light a fire
but there's always tomorrow!) with pillows in front for the kitty to snuggle
on.  Pro-squirrels and pro-birdies to be viewed via the kitty TV (aka
sliding glass doors).

Robbie says that he agrees with Shmoggs politics and can he join the
campaign party as he fully supports the "Pro sunbeam" Bill.

HRFL Tiger would like to put forward the "Pro cheese" bill, whereby he
has first dibs on all cheese coming into his territory, which shall
hereby be renamed "City of Tigertown". Pandora says that she'll support
anything that makes HRFL Tiger happy, but she would like it known she is
also Pro Sunbeam, as well as being Anti-rain & cold - she believes it
should be banned.

Cleo is pro-fleecey-bed-in-front-of-the-fire, and reckons a bill should
be passed where she gets fed in bed so she doesn't have to walk to the
kitchen. Miss Lily Whiskers doesn't give a sh*t what bills are passed,
as long as they're pro gooshy food on demand, anti wet & cold. If pushed
however, Miss Lily Whiskers will also admit to being pro-sunbeam.

So, Shmogg can rest assured in the knowledge that he has 5 cats who are
signed up members of the pro-sunbeam party.

Licky would enact an anti-loud noise bill immediately upon taking
office. Tacked onto that bill would be a ban on sudden movements.

Oh-oh, I see a cold war descending on kitty world. Caliban, though
definitely pro sunbeam, is also in favour of wet and windy, as well as snow.

Miranda's platform would be high. I.e. high platforms for every kitty to
hang out on. Good cat trees / real trees to climb, as well as nice
wooden panelling on walls for good climbing. She would also push for
fresh meat every day, and none of that disgusting cat food.

My former cat Ruffus would run on a platform of platform. A high place
for every cat. A warm television in every home, and a computer to sit
on.

Since I havn't seen Baha's reply, I'll guess at what she'd write.

Stosh: No doors! All cats, under my administration, will be allowed to
run in and out of the house at will. Tall swivel chairs will be
provided to all worthy cats.

Brandy: We will require a variety of foods to be provided by the
twolegs. No one will go without.

Odessa: All twolegs will have to pass a stringent test before being
allowed to scratch me. Favor will be given to men.

Sabrina: Our administration will provide cardboard boxes and samples
of fabric and yarn to all strays and cats needing comfort.

Oh, Bootsie Collin's platforms for sure.  They were the tallest shoes
we ever saw during the entire decade (70's of course) and we think
cats would instantly claim the top of them if ever seen.  A pair for
each kitty, I think, along with the passing of the "No Kitten Left
Behind"
act mandating the opening of all human homes to the occupation
of kittens such that none ever need experience unwelcome weather
of any sort ever again.  And if there are humans in those homes that
don't get along with kittens....let them sit out in the cold for
awhile.  8^P

Tallest shoes? I'm trying and failing to picture tall shoes... :)

Who's Bootsie Collins?

Bootsy is a bass player, who is pretty much the father of funk.  While
playing in James Brown's band in the '60s, he invented the bass sound
that became typical of the big funk bands in the 70s.  He was the bass
player for Parliament Funkadelic.

Heheh, Theresa explained who he is, but not about his
shoes....he wore the tallest platform boots, usually in
outrageous red vinyl PVC, the heels had to be six inches
high, with the soles not far behind.  That's tall shoes.

If not tall enough, there were also Gene Simmon's boots.....

Oh... duh!! *Platforms* - I get it. (Slowly, after much explanation, but
at least I get it.)

I love seeing those old 70s soul groups with matching suits in some
bright color with wide lapels, bell bottoms, and platforms. And big,
big afros.

Earth Wind and Fire used to have some great costumes.  They put on a
great show. ;)

But Parliament.  They were something else. ;)

Never saw them alive, too bad for me, but I did
see a later incarnation of Earth, Wind & Fire,
with Bootsie in red PVC as usual!  And though
it was in the 90's that I saw them, his boots were
just as big as ever.  Didn't matter though, I was
too busy watching his bass!

Also, you can see him in that video "Groove is
in the Heart" by ...what's her name again?

Kitty would promote mandatory real fires in the home that she can snooze
near.  Boyfriend would be for banning anyone coming to the house and ringing
the doorbell.  In fact, banning anyone coming to the house at all!  Both
would be pro-sunbeam and would say that roasted breast of chicken, chopped
up finely for cats should be the law in Britain.

Lets see, "No Cat Left Abandoned", D*g control, TED control, Crunchies and
Gooshy Food on demand, and very pro-choice sleeping spots

If Sheba were to run for gov, she would promise a whole roast chicken
for every cat every day!
Robin promises to put severe controlls on trespassing critters; and
making it illegal to not have a onetruehome to stay in and protect.
Djoser is also pro-sun; but also promises every cat a soft blankie
nest to sleep in.
