Finally, a vacation is coming!

After both of us busting our humps for ridiculous hours for long months,
we're finally going to take a real vacation! We actually *are* going to
fly back to Wisconsin to see Nancy's family over Thanksgiving. I'm not
really crazy about the idea of flying (I haven't flown since well before
9/11), but we've only got a week so it's the only logical choice.

I don't know how much free time we'll have when we get there, but just in
case - any catslaves living near Madison, WI interested in a brief
face-to-face?

Arrangements have been made for my brother and my mom to come over and
feed and look in on the kitties. I'm sure Ranger will take advantage of
the chance to love up my mom - he loves to snuggle with her.

This sounds so really great to me. I had a hard time getting time and money
together to visit my family on the other coast when my kids were home. I
wish I'd done it more often. And I'm truly grateful for the memories of the
trips we did manage to take.

Every time I think of my brother, I think "there was supposed to be more
time"

You've earned it! Have a wonderful vacation!

As someone who has flown *a lot* in the past couple of years it's not all
that bad. You need to check in an hour ahead of time to give yourself time
to get through security (not the three hours ahead they were saying right
after the scare out of Heathrow). But they've relaxed the "no liquids in
carry-ons" considerably. Some things might still be on the no-no list; just
check with the airline to be sure. I still don't think they let you bring
your own water, soda, coffee; the only reason I can figure out is the
airport vendors might stage a revolution because they're making a killing.

You're so fortunate to have folks who will come check take care of them and
play with them :)
