I'm so happy Dave is recovering faster than expected! Purrs are still
coming!

LOL! Just like my Jessie, she has to have been a model in a former
life, when the camera comes out so does she!
> They met my friend Jim on Sunday as well and were all over him!
PUtting their scent on him and marking him as a soft touch for future
owners, no doubt.

I've never tried either. Mine were all on Science diet dry until their
new vet recommended canned, so not they get free-fed SD Senior Advanced
Formula and have Fancy Feast twice a day for their main meal. They
seem to be thriving on that, but I've heard other vets recommending
IAMS, so if they ever get tired of FF I'll give that a try.

Thanks for responding Lesley, I've felt so out of it lately, like a
stranger int he midst of my own family! I'm hoping for a new job soon
that will have me working a lot less hours so I can get back into the
swing of things here!
Hugs,

Royal Canin is a vastly superior food to IAMS. IAMS has a very high
cereal content and uses animal by-products, whereas Royal Canin has
dehydrated poultry meat as it's first listed product, doesn't use
indigestable ceareals and wouldn't touch animal by-products with a 50ft
barge pole. Plus, they have *wonderful* gossamer like coats on RC,
whereas I have always found IAMS makes their coats dull and dry and they
puke more.
But then, I am Royal Canin bias as several posters here will tell you.
;o) You'll be doing the mogs a favour if you wean them off IAMS onto RC.

Speaking from Rusty's experience, he was on IAM's ocean fish dry when
he had his first urinary blockage. Since then he has been on various
prescription food. He was on Waltham's S/O prescription canned food
when Royal Canin bought Waltham. It might be coincidence, but that was
about the same time he started pooping on the floor. The vet didn't
find anything wrong with him. The inappropriate pooping stopped as soon
as he was switched over to Science Diet's prescription I/D formula. Now
Rusty is on Medi-Cal's prescription Mature Cat formula. He is 12 years
old. I don't know whether there will be any further switch in food.
