Mom came in yesterday, and Dante did his usual
bouncing-around-the-house performance to greet her.  "Hi Cookie!" she
said to him.  I said  "Mom, you've been calling him that lately-- is
that a new nickname?"  My mom, as some of you may have realized, is a
veritable Queen of Le Mot Juste. ;)  "I guess so," she said.  "Because
he's sweet---  and--- um-- round."  ;)

Dante the Cookie, Dante the Ravioli, Dante the Sausage. ;)  Dante the
Eclair.  Yes, I've been remiss, but I have to get new batteries for my
camera, and it's been easy to forget.  I can't promise anything, but
I'll see what I can do next week.

The Stripey Boys, who live in a nearby copy-printing shop,  Fatty and
Skinny, are a study in how stripes look on different body types. ;)
Skinny looks like he's wearing a tight, trim sweater, and Fatty is
wearing a looser, stretchy one. ;)

Tee hee, on that basis, I may have to give Nina the same nickname. =o)

I second the motion--I want piccies! I hear you about camera batteries,
though. I need to get a new one for mine also, and it's easy to forget
to do it when I'm out and about. (And I never seem to have my camera
handy to know what KIND of battery to get when I am thinking about it.)

Hmm she's a cinnamon bun, too.  Or a rugelach! ;)

Maybe I should open this up to the group-- What cookie is your cat?

Dante is an Oreo, and Stinky is definitely a black-and-white:

I think cinnamon bun is OK for Caliban, but what in the world is
Miranda?? Actually, she's not round enough to be a cookie. What's long
and thin and bluish grey?

I call the girls "Cookie" all the time. Both of them. In character, Miranda
would be a delicate lady finger.

Barnabus told me to look on the Peppridge Farm website for Pirouette
Rolled Wafers to describe his Miranda.  The website describes these
cookies as:

Pirouette® Rolled Wafers
Long. Slender. Graceful. A delicate crisp wafer, surrounds a rich,
creamy filling. Perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. Our
Pirouette rolled wafers add a touch of elegance when you entertain, and
they make a delightful addition to a dish of ice cream or a cup of
coffee. Also enjoy them straight out of the tin for an indulgent reward!

-----

Now Barnabus says that Miranda is Long. Slender. Graceful. Delicate in
matters of the heart her personality is rich and fulfilling.  She has
perfect balance and is absolutely delightful.  She adds a touch of
elegance where ever she is and he considers her an indulgent companion
and friend.

That's what Barnabus had to say.

Barnabus is, indeed, a cat wise beyond his years.  Poetic too.

Barnabus is a Nabisco Devil's Food Marshmallow cookie. He's a little bit
devil on the outside and a lot soft and sweet and goshy on the inside.

Miranda is blushing while looking kind of smug.

Heh, Barnabus was strutting around last night looking pretty smug
himself, running through the house dragging a string behind him. Sam
jumped on him and rolled him over and grabbed his string and
ran...chanting, "Ize gotz the yarn now, Ize gotz the yarn."  Barnabus
cried, "Moommmmm, Sam has my green yarn, make him give me back my green
yarn."  I started to chastize Sam for stealing Barnabus's green yarn
when it hit me, "Green yarn? I don't have any green yarn around here.
Barnabus, where did you get green yarn?"  At that point Barnabus began
strutting again and looking rather smug. He wouldn't tell me where he
got the green yarn.

Well, Miranda's not telling, but the skein she unravelled was green. I
think someone has been using the teleporter...

Glad to hear Sam was in tackling form.

I think what you should open up is a *bakery* - with Dante as the
official Shop Cookie, er, I mean Cat.

I've also heard Dante described as being a Jenny-type cat who is very
slender and lithe. :)
