Stinky is a most determined cat when it comes to reading obstruction.
He could be the poster cat for all cats who come and sit on your book
or newspaper.  But he does it in such a darn cute way, and I suppose
he knows it-- that he always wins the battle.  Actually, there is no
battle.  He just comes, plops himself on my book, and I give up. ;)

I often read in bed on my side, with the book resting open on the bed,
and was doing that last night, when along came Stinky, settled down on
my book, after a little stretch, then absolutely vibrating with purrs,
very gently bonked his forehead against mine three or four times.
Awww.  I can always read this later. ;)

Heh heh! Smart fellow, Stinky! It's virtually impossible to read around
a cat who wants love and attention, and gets it by lying on the page
you're trying to read. =o)  Pan had almost the same trick. He would
rest his head on the page and look up at me in this very appealing way,
and I would be done for.

Oh that would be more than enough for me, but the Stinkster likes to
push the cute envelope. ;)  One time, while looking me right in the
eye very *earnestly*, he stre-e-e-e-e-e-e-tched out a paw and planted
it right on my nose.  Instant puddle!  ;)

LOL! So sweet. Caliban has this move when I'm sitting at a table
reading. First, he climbs up on my neck and lays down there (incredibly
uncomfortable). Then he gradually slides down over my shoulder so he
ends up in my arms. Then he keeps sliding until he is laying on whatever
I'm reading. He's so subtle. ;o)

LOL, uncomfortable for whom? :)

(Personally, it doesn't sound too comfy for either of you, but as we
know, cats are perfectly content in positions that would be an orthopedic
nightmare for any normal species. :))

PS - I had to change the subject line because my newsreader won't let
me post messages containing non-ASCII characters. (But I don't want to
change news clients - I like it otherwise!)

Yeah. Of course, I won't notice 5 kilos of cat on my neck. Right.

Mischief - 01 Nov 2006 00:03 GMT
MIschief does that ALL the time.  Studying for my exams can be
impossible at times, cause she'll just plop onto the books/papers

Right now she's taking a nap on my desk, she liked how the papers
crinkled under her.  She's almost asleep, one of her eyes is slughtly
open and i can see her third eyelid.....oops not anymore.

I snapped a few pics, but i can't upload them cause her head is lying
on the USB cord.

Oh well....

Kristi
