Thanks for the purrs and prayers.  They helped.  My mother crossed the
bridge at 12:20 this morning.  I'll probably be on line for a little while,
but my son is coming over, and my daughter will be here this evening, so I
won't be posting much for the rest of the day.

It was peaceful, and a release from the problems she had been having over
the past few weeks and days.  She told me several times she was ready to go.

It's good it was peaceful, and she certainly had a long life, but it still
doesn't mean you haven't lost your mom. Many comforting purrs to you and
your family.

I'm glad it was a gentle passing, but it's still awfully hard to lose a
parent. Take good care of yourself and be kind to yourself, Joy.

I shall light a candle tonight to help guide your mother.  This will be
a hard time for you and your family regardless of the fact that your
Mother was ready to go, we're never really prepared to let go of a
parent.  We're sending purrs your way, Joy.

Joy,

My heart goes out to you and your family. I lost my mom almost 2
months ago, and even though I know she is happier now, I still miss
her.

You have my purrs and prayers.   I know what you are going through,
having lost both my parents back in 2001.  My mother's death came as a
surprise, but my father's death, 5 1/2 months later, came as a release
from illness.  I know the mixed feelings of sadness at being separated
from your loved one, and also relief that their suffering is over.

"Mourning is not forgetting . . . It is an undoing. Every minute tie
has to be untied and something permanent and valuable recovered and
assimilated from the knot. The end is gain, of course. Blessed are
they that mourn, for they shall be made strong, in fact. But the
process is like all other human births, painful and long and
dangerous."

The boys are in a chorus of respectful purrs.  They don't do much
together, but they work very hard at their concerted purrs.

Many purrs to you and your family. That sounds like the best way to exit
this life, peacefully and when you are ready, after a long and good
life. Our condolences to the ones who are left behind.
