We were getting low on cat food, so I picked up a can of Tuna from the mini
store in the concourse near work. They don't carry cat food, as it's a
scaled down version of a large chain store for the lunch crowd. It's
actually a great concept and they're raking in a ton of money from the lunch
bunch.
Anyway, we don't normally give Smokey meat, as she tends to puke it up. Not
sure why, as she could eat a ton of kibble and be fine. Probably because she
tends to gobble her meat and possibly a touch of hairball. But the other day
I was feeding the other girls Tuna and Smokey got wind of it. Tuna was
always one of her favourites and she is less likely to throw this up. Not
sure why. Cali and Cleo weren't too pleased with their fishy treat, but
Smokey was quite pleased.
This morning I went to the cupboard and it was bare. The horror! Although
Cali and Cleo prefer kibble, they are supposed to get some meat for medical
reasons. So I gave Smokey her kibble and proceeded to open a can of Salmon
for C&C. But Smokey had decided before she even smelled the Salmon, that
there was better to be had. No Thank You she says, I want some of the good
stuff I had the other day. So she had Salmon too and was the only one to
clean her plate. Smokey usually puts more food on the floor than in her
stomach, as she tries to eat everything with her enormous tongue, rather
than chewing.

I must be tired. I am lost between tuna, salmon and kibble and I can't
understand your post at all. I'm off to bed ;-)

Sorry for the rambling, although the theme did remind me of your post about
"The Food Game".

Oh yes, the Food Game. They both try and play it occasionally still, but
*I* refuse to play this game. They get nice food and if they choose to
reject it, they just have to go without!
It's surprising to find how they gobble up their food after trying 24 hours
of The Food Game ;-)

Have you ever really seen a cat chew it's food? When I feed TuTu wet
food, she gives it a good licking all over while pushing it off the plate
to the floor. Any time she eats a little beef, she will upchuck.....and
not in one place. She walks through the house making little piles here
and there. I made a pledge last night : no more beef tidbits. MLB

Cleo does a pretty good job, but then she's a biter. She leaves her plate
and the floor pretty much spotless. Giving Smokey a plate of cream is just
asking to have the floor painted with milk.
Yeah the Fancy Feast beef with the red dye is an instant puke up for Smokey.
Of course she always runs to the rug to throw up, as she associates it with
dirt/grass. Then she tries to bury it, so at least she has that part right.

i WISH Ruff liked variety! kibble, kibble, kibble! will not eat 'people food'
- including part of a salmon steak one day! turns up her nose at all canned
foods. can talk her into canned tuna now and then, though. feel bad that i
can't 'treat her' once in awhile!
