My 94-year-old mother appears to be on the verge of crossing the Rainbow
Bridge.  I know she will be greeted by many dogs she has loved, as well as a
goat.  In the meantime, I'd like purrs for a painless, peaceful crossing.

Oh, Joy, purrs for you, your family and your mom for a peaceful
passing if it's now time. I'm sure the dogs and goat are perking up
for her to come to them. What a happy crossing it will be to be
reunited with those who crossed before.

Hang in there. This must be a hard time for you all.

Thank you, Cheryl.  I am especially glad that my sister's daughter picked
this time to visit them.  (My mother and sister are in Alaska, and I am in
California)  I know my mother is especially looking forward to being
reunited with her last dog, a toy poodle named Cricket.  She lost Cricket
about a year ago, and has never completely stopped grieving for her.

Yes, she did.  Much of it was hard, but she came through with shining
colors.

She set me a tough example to follow.  The first year of my life we lived in
a basement.  My Dad was building a house, and that was as far as he had
gotten.  She had to cook on a wood stove, haul water up and down stairs, and
battle the extreme temperatures of California's San Joaquin Valley -
scorching hot in the summer, cold enough to freeze diapers on the line in
the winter.  After 80 years in California, she moved to Alaska, and has
loved being there this past 14 years.

Many purrs for your Mother, Joy. Wow, she has led a long life. But it
would be nice if she could stay a little longer.

Oh Joy, I'm so sorry. My heart is with you and your mother. Spock and
Persephone are purring fit to bust.  Fox sends many tail wags in your
direction.  May it be peaceful, painless and dignified.

I missed this post. Purrs to you Joy, and your family at this time; I hope
she is surrounded by those she loves, and that her passing is full of love,
peace and the anticipation of a better place.

I'm sorry, Joy! That's hard no matter how old someone is, or how much
you're expecting it.

On the good side, your mom has lived a very long, and from some of the
things you've told us, a full, adventurous life. Someone who perhaps
won't have to die regretting what she's missed!

Purrs,
Joyce
