Job number four

Joyce recently welcomed me back.  I don't think I've really been away,
but I've been lurking more and posting less.

I had to get a fourth job.  As of three days ago I've taken on Job
Number 4. I'm managing a stockroom for a shop at the mall.

This summer I got a teaching job, in addition to my previous newspaper
freelancing and the cartoon which doesn't pay much. It was pretty
regular in the summer, averaging out to 20 hours a week, and the pay
was pretty good. I expected it to become permanent part time in the
fall when the new classroom was equipped with computers. But I got a
third job at Dalhousie anyway, doing web page update stuff for ten
hours a week, to give me a 30 hour workweek and some spending money.

Then Career Essentials decided not to put in that classroom.

So now I'm doing stock on evenings and weekends, because it lets me
keep my days open to teach at CE when other staff are sick and to meet
with people at Dal about web pages. My days are pretty light right now,
but if CE actually puts in that classroom though, things are going to
get completely insane. I'll be doing the stock thing at least until
Christmas, perhaps longer.

Anyway, I'm still going to be posting and I offer purrs where required,
but  I won't have as much time to respond to things.

Best of luck on all your jobs.  I just hope you don't end up getting too
stressed out.  A friend of mine spent some time in the hospital after her
health went to pot because of the stress of dealing with four jobs.

Good lord! Four jobs? I'm amazed you're able to remember where the
computer is, let alone post. :)

You do a cartoon? I didn't know that! Do you have it posted online
anywhere?

Hope you can manage all the juggling.

It's not as bad as it sounds, in that all my work places are within 15
minutes' drive, I have a car right now, and my average work week is a
pretty typical 35-40 hours.

I will try to get the cartoon online in the next few days, and do a
post about it :)

You take care of yourself it sounds like a hard schedule!

And then to get home in time to prepare food for the Queen of Darkness,
Smokey who sounds like an eating machine and 2 bitties!

Good luck

Aren't you also working on a thesis? :)  If I had four jobs, it would
kill me.  I've done two.  Maybe sometimes three.  But one is usually
good enough!  Maybe occasionally two is good if one gets boring.

My thesis, for all that is merciful, is done. :)  I get my degree
certificate on Saturday :)

As it stood, three jobs weren't leaving me with any $$ left over for
food, for either myself OR the kitties, so...while I would've loved to
do net stuff by day and draw/write by night while waiting for CE to
call me in to teach, I needed a bit more.

Congratulations on the degree, and purrs for juggling all the jobs!
