Sorry for the OT gang, but I know Victor hangs out here.

Victor, How much light do you have over your 110 now; still 4*65? I'm
running 2*96 on my 55 and I plan to go to a 90 soon, so I want to upgrade
the lighting. I'm seriously considering Halide/PC combos from Jebo. I was
considering building my own, but the parts aren't cheap either. The small
Jebo puts out 492 Watts, which is a tad more than I want. LOL. I was
actually looking at building 2*175, but the ballasts (2) are $125 each +
bulbs + reflectors, makes the Jebo look good. I wouldn't run the full 492
all day, I'd do the sunrise/sunset/high noon thing. Plus the Jebo has moon
lights.

Any thoughts, other than fishy sunglasses. :-)

I still have 4*65 and thanks for the reminder, it's time to purchase new
bulbs. They are supposed to lose something in the spectrum after 12
months of use or so.

Sounds like a nice setup, lots of light at high noon though. Do you
supplement CO2? I assume you're checking ebay.com and aquabid.com, I
can't remember in which of the two I got my kit.

Fishy sunglasses indeed! :)

I've read that Compact Fluorescents don't lose more than x% over the life of
the bulb, so they don't need to be replaced until they die. It's only
supposed to be tubes that need replaced every 12 months. BUT, when I
replaced my previous CF bulbs (2 years) it was like night and day. So I
don't believe what I've read.

Yes I add CO2 now and it will be getting moved to the new tank. I haven't
really found any deals on eBay, I usually buy from AHSupply and build my
own. But I can't see 3 or 4 96W CFs, there would not be any room to feed the
fish.

If I go the JEBO route, I'll have to try some high light plants and build
some fishy caves.
