It's that time of year when I can open the windows and the air is nice and
crisp. I LOVE FALL! I have my cat-flag hanging and a small harvest display
by the front door: a small sugar pumpkin and a big striped gourd here:

Also a wire basket containing some faux fall veggies and my wire acorn
lanterns. The lanterns are here:

So anyway, I have the window in the living room open and the one in this
room open. Persia is zooming back and forth from window to window :) It's
great because she really can use the exercise! It's still a bit chilly this
morning but later I'll probably sit on the patio and let her into her kitty
walk. Do your cats get the zoomies when the temps cool down?

Our temps have cooled down a little, but it's still rather humid. We have
our windows open and it's 83 degrees in the house with 55% humidity. My
cats are on thorough lizard patrol.

You remind me of where my parents live... I was on the patio out back
reading when this lizard came up and drank from a water dish my mom had out
for the birds. I just had to chuckle. Of course my parents don't have cats
but they definitely have lizards running all around.

Miranda gets huge zoomie attacks. It's a wonder to see her zoom about,
up and down cat trees, from one piece of furniture to another, out in
the enclosure and up the wall there, back down and inside - zoom zoom
zoom (like Nancy posted, too). Caliban is more of a trotter, but he
hardly ever slows down to a walk.
I remember Nikki, who used to have her special sound effects while
zooming about. I would hear her little trill approaching as she came
running toward me, then it would pass me and move about the flat, then
come closer again: rrrrRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr. I miss
that little girl so.

Cinnamon ,Abby and Sam love the cooler weather too. The only thing they
don't like is it is to cool to have the porch doors open all the time. They
have to relearn what it's to cold to go out means. (out for them is going
onto the enclosed porch)

Not zoomies so much at my end, although there was a spectactular
mother-daughter chase race around my apartment last night while I was
watching TV. But my lap is once again desirable territory. And Nina
gets a fit that I'll call "the Rolllies" She finds a sunny patch on the
floor, throws herself down on it and sunbathes, tummy side up. Then,
when she's sure I'm watching her with satisfactory attention, she rolls
from side to side, giving me the "upsidedowny head" look. She's almost
unbearably cute when she does this. =o)

Stinky has been in high gear all week, especially in the early AM
hours. He's been running up and down the stairs, patrolling around
wowling, and doing the feline cannonball (i.e. crouching in a box,
launching himself out of it, and charging all over the house). It's
wonderful to have a 15-year-old hoolikitten.

I think it has more to do with the change in air pressure
associated with cooler weather, but mine seem more active at
night, too, come Autumn.
