He's doing exceptionally well. He is still not out of the woods. It
will be about 6 months, if everything goes exactly right, to see if his
hoof grows out. He may get the broken leg out of the cast soon and into
a splint. If he had not contracted the laminitis, he would be well on
his way to a green retirement pasture to finish recovering and out of
the woods. Still, they seriously thought it was curtains when he got
laminitis, but he has just gone on about his business and complied with
treatment and gotten well enough in all other respects he gets walkies
outside everyday. They honestly couldn't ask for better than this right
now.
