Yes, I'm curious too. But he's probably got another year of only
cat-dom because I want to wait until we move into our new house to
introduce new cats. I think maybe bringing the new kittens in at the
same time in neutral territory would be our best chance.

Well, given current life expectancies, it will be a good 50 years or so,
I reckon. Don't see myself buried at the local cemetary but perhaps
cremated and scattered in the wind on a local cliff? Who knows what
will happen. I just know we love it here and feel more at home here
than we have any other place.
But Vino is 8 years old now and even though I'd love him to live
forever, reasonably speaking he's only got about another 8 years in him.
One more reason to get more cats soon. Sounds callous, but I'd hate to
be without cats when Vino passes. Don't think I could bear it.

I've known several cats that have passed the age of 20, the oldest was 27,
the oldest cat ever lived to 34. So I hope Vino has much more than 8 years
left.

I know just what you mean, Britta. Luthien is
almost 14, and my original thought in bringing
home Muezza Glorio was that it might make
it easier for our daughter to handle things when
Luthien heads for the bridge. But now I realize
how unbearable it will be for myself, in fact,
and I'm very grateful for the fast bonding that
is developing with the new kitten. He is really
the most cuddly cat I have ever had apart from
Sarah, over twenty five years ago.

I was wondering how you were settling into Australia and if you had
experienced any culture shock. Although, granted it is not as
culturally different as Thailand. From the television and photo's
that I've seen, Margaret River looks like a beautiful place, I can
understand why you love it there. A friend of mine wanted to move to
Margaret River, she was living in Perth at the time and was very much
into visiting vineyards and wine tasting. But alas her husband dragged
her of to some dry mining town on the opposite side of the country.
