Fred got up at the crack of dawn to go on a hiking trip for three days and I
couldn't find Chester after he left. I thought Chester had run out into the
cold dark morning and was very concerned about his safety.
When I got home at 4:00 PM, still no Chester.
Neighbours now driven insane by constant whistling for Chester by 8:30 PM.
Food dishes were empty in the AM so something terrible must have befallen
Chester if he hadn't come back by then.
Inspiration struck and I checked downstairs in the locked storage room.
There was Chester mewing faintly just where Fred had accidentally locked him
15 hours previously. Cheerful as always, he chirped and rubbed on
everything as he came up for a scritch and a snack. Whew! If it had been
Otis, the whole neighbourhood would have heard him!

Oh, poor guy! Thank god you had that inspiration!

Including you. :) I worry about those quiet kitties! When Smudge went
missing earlier this summer, I found her because she was howling to wake
the dead.
I'm glad you found him and he's OK. He must have been ready for a meal!

Glad all ended well. Harry is doing well after his being locked in the
garage, you reminded me that while Harry was still missing I couldn't
find Bosco and was really feeling vey much in the center of a predator
scourge, Bosco had snuck in the master bath behind me and I didn't see
him (door is kept closed due to Loos' unwelcome bathroom habits).
Hopefully my scares will diminish as the new guys learn the household
routines. Norm with Quinn, Loos, Case, Bosco, Harry and Tao.

Ah, bless his little cotton socks. Poor Chester. I know how it feels to
have a cat missing but at least Chester has an excuse and Boyfie hasn't.

Thanks Tweed and all of you for your shared relief! I really had a BAAAAAD
feeling about it this time since it was too long to be away without food.
It was so unlike him that I was sure he was a goner. I was just about to go
upstairs and beg for homing purrs when I remembered about the basement.
Tell me I'm not missing something and Boyfie is gone again? I saw your post
where he came back so I hope that there hasn't been another one. Bastard
cat trick!

No, he is not gone again. Only that he happens to be out at the moment
doing his rounds of the property, which is normal. I only worry if he
doesn't do what is normal for him.
He usually greets me home from work. If not he is home within a few
minutes. 8 pm was time to start the panic.
B##### cat trick for sure. He has had a severe talking to about worrying
his meowmie.

They can sure get in place that they know they don't belong. Happy that you
found him.
I lost ka' shay here a couple weeks ago could not find here anywhere in the
house. After 3 hours of searching she came out with a look what you need me
for something. Little devil :-)
