Also, here's a very good online resource:

Unfortunately, none of the "good" brands are availalbe at Petsmart. But
I'm sure there's a local pet shop not too far from you where you can buy
premium foods.

K/D is that the one they dissolve kidney stone s with that they leave
cats on for a little while or is it a kidney maintence one? Purina
makes a urinary tract food...I plead ignorance one of my cats ate
Hill's something with letters for along time and we switched him to
first Urinary Tract Purina 1 and Now I feed that particular cat
Friskies Special Diet and it comes in canned and dry food...and if its
the one that dissolves stones I was told once that they're not suppose
to stay on it forever anyways...-Kenda

Is K/D a kidney diet? Kitty FC has recently been diagnosed with kidney
failure and the only place I can get her recommended food is from the vet,
who I am sure get themselves a good mark up on it.
Once she was diagnosed I wish I could have found a source of suitable food
elsewhere, but I cannot, because kidney food is "on prescription." There
are plenty of places online that will sell you kidney diets cheaper than the
vet will, however you need a prescription from the vet who will charge you
$16 to write the prescription for it, which makes it pointless.
