Today is the day! Miss Priss gets to go her New Home.
DH got his co-worker's daughters confused, she is NOT going to live in West
Lafayette with a Perdue student, but in Chicago!!! She will have a little
tower in a window, and a nice view of Lake Michigan!!!! Also lots of toys
and beds to choose from. The girl's dad (divorced from DH's co-worker) is
going all-out and apparently is a cat-lover himself!
She leaves this afternoon, as I am to take her to DH's work when the day is
over, and then Missy is off to her new home!

She's Off!!
She balked at getting into the carrier, and squeaked out a few of her
patented "mak"s on the drive to DH's work. While waiting for DH, I reached
into the carrier to give her skritchies, and she showed interest in
exploring the Jeep, so I let her out a bit, and she did climb into my arms
and purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrred, then wanted to explore!
I think this is good - maybe she won't be so scared when she gets to her new
home.
<sigh>
On another note............................
About 40 minutes before I was to leave to take Missy to DH's work, I look
out back, and there sits a grey and white cat (think Tuxedo, except grey
instead of black, with white), just sitting at the door as if it's lived
here for years, and is waiting to come in....
I go get a handful of kibble, it gobbles it down, and comes to me for
pettins!!!!
<sigh>
I loved on it a bit, and left it to it's own. I did see that it is female,
has all it's claws, but no fleas (thankfully). Doesn't look like it's had
kittens (no swollen teats - couldn't even see her nipples without looking),
but she wasn't skinny either.
She tired to come in the house while I was exiting with Missy in the
carrier.
Followed me to the Jeep. I had to pick her up (she was more than willing)
and carry her to a pile of gooshey food I had put out for her earlier, just
so I would know where she was and not squish her as I pulled away!
<sigh>
I didn't see her when I got home & pulled into the drive, but no sooner had
I taken 3 steps toward the house than here she comes, as if to say "Hey,
lady, didja forget about me?"
I've been calling it KitKit. Responds to it to. When DH came home, we sat
outside with it, and he tried several, but KitKit is the only one that got
an ear twitch. I was able to check her teeth, and she's older, probably 5-6
years old. While DH & I were out there with her, she wandered off.
<sigh>

Wow, between you and Mark, I'm not sure who is the greater lost-kitty
magnet. Both of you seem to have a never-ending stream of strays, ferals
(just waiting to be tamed) and neighborhood cats coming to your front
door!
I wonder if cats have a version of "Follow the Drinking Gourd"? :)
(That was a song sung by slaves in the US. It sounded like any other
spiritual, but contained within its lyrics were disguised directions to
the way North, and perhaps also to safe houses on the Underground
Railroad.)
Best wishes to Missy in her new home! Apparently Kitkit has received
word of the vacancy...

Never fear -- she will return and you will probably discover she is
pregnant. She was just checking out a nice place to raise the kids.
Congratulations! MLB

You've *got* to find that "Sucker lives here" sign and destroy it,
Magic! Purrs that Kitkit already has a home and is just visiting.
