I haven't seen Nanki-Poo for about 24 hours.  He often disappears for hours
at a time, but not for this long.

I'm feeling extra bad about this for two reasons.  About 1:40 this morning I
heard a sound - or maybe I dreamed it.  I can't remember what it sounded
like, but it was enough to make me jump out of bed and turn on the lights.
I think it was something like a shout or an animal cry.  I searched the
whole house and didn't see anything.  Lindy was on the bed, and she didn't
move, but there was no sign of Nanki-Poo - not even in his chair.

The other thing that makes me feel especially bad is that I'm not sure about
his chip.  He was chipped when I got him at the shelter a couple of years
ago.  Last year he had a wound on the back of his neck that started with
something that looked as though a large clump of his hair had been ripped
out by the roots.  It apparently itched, and he dug at it unmercifully.  We
eventually got it under control, and you can't even tell where it was now.
Periodically I wondered whether he might have dug the chip out during that
time.  I meant to have it checked, but I never did.  In fact, I had just
about decided to wait until November when he's due for his annual shots.
:-(

Please purr for my little boy.  I will get him scanned for the chip right
away if no, WHEN he does come home.

Put flyers up all over the neighbourhood.

Don't beat yourself up.  Purrs coming over the pond from KFC and Boyfie that
NP gets his butt straight home now.  Please keep us updated.

Thank you, Christina.  That worked fast!  Right after I posted my message, I
got a phone call.  While I was still on the phone,  Nanki-Poo came in.

Whew! That's a relief. And it certainly was fast - I hadn't even had time
to post a "get home now" purr before I saw your update.

OK, now you've gotta go get him scanned. :)

I'm so glad.  Molly is doing this to us a lot right now.  The summer weather
has broken and it really is cat heaven out there.  We've been having to
resort to reporting Molly sightings to each other.  She was in last night
around 7.  I felt a whisper across my ankle while I was at the computer and
reached down to scritch her.  She was at the door to come in for breakfast
this morning.  etc.

I was about to send purrs then I noticed the update, I'm so glad they
weren't necessary.

You mean, after you curse him out and hug him hard til he promises not to
do it again.

This world taught woman nothing skillful and then said her work was
valueless. It permitted her no opinions and said she did not know how to
think. It forbade her to speak in public, and said the sex had no
orators.
