Get well purrs are requested for my boycat Andy. He has been vomiting
for a few hours - before I got home from work. Plus after I got home he
vomited two more times. Plus he passed up his dinner of gushy food so I
know he is not feeling well. I did notice a small hairball which might
have brought this on. But he has never vomited like this afterwards
before. I am watching him closely and if he doesn't improve soon off to
TED he goes.

Puuurrrrrsss....That is worrying. Purrs that it's just a hairball. A tspn of
olive oil maybe? Is he vomitting grass? Allergies? Jasmine vomits dry food
at odd times so she is now on a raw food diet. Hope he is ok.

Thank you for the purrs. As of right now he seems to be doing better. I
think he just did a hairball shortly before I got home and that upset
his stomach. He is an indoor only cat so he was bringing up whatever
food he had left and some clear fluid. The last couple of times the
fluid was slightly pink in color. I know he didn't get into anything
toxic as I have no plants and and anything toxic is controlled such that
he has NO access to it. Thanks for the good wishes.

Purrs that Andy is feeling better. Don't wait too long. That sounds
like a LOT of vomiting. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the purrs. As of right now he seems better as he is just
resting with no vomiting. He only vomited three or four times before I
got home and not very much. After I got home it was mainly liquid.

Purrs that it's just a sour tummy. Any chance that he got into
something? Also, if he brought up a small hairball, there could be a
larger one lurking. If you have any hairball lub, it might be worth a
try while waiting to call TED. Four sets of loud reverbing purrs
heading Andy's way.

I hope so too. As of right now he seems better. I'll just let his
stomach settle , make sure he eats, and keep an eye on him.
I know he didn't get into anything as I have no plants and all cleaners
etc are inaccessible. Thanks for the purrs.

I got back from the emergency vets about thirty minutes ago. They
checked him out fully and couldn't find anything generally wrong. So
they ran an x-ray and determined that he was constipated. So they gave
him an enema. He was not a happy camper when we arrived home. He was
hissing and growling at me. So far he has not eaten or drank anything
but his stomach doesn't seem settled down yet as he vomited a bit twice
since we got home. He has visited the litter box three times to pee
though. I will keep an eye on him still Especially to see if he eats
some. I have a feeling it's going to be a long night. Still not sure if
I will work tomorrow or call in sick or something. I guess that
depends on how he is doing during the night and tomorrow morning. Purrs
are still needed I think. Thanks everyone for the ones provided so far.

Did they draw bloodwork? How old is your cat? Vomiting and upset
stomache can be a symptom of hyperthyroidism, which could have been
building up silently. It can also make them pee more because of a high
heart rate, hypertension and high kidney blood flow. Simple blood
test, results in two days. I know, my cat just got diagnosed on
Thursday last. Don't mean to scare you, but just so you can make sure
they did the bloodwork. It's easy to treat.

The emergency vet did not do blood work. But my regular vet that I took
him to today did I will get the results tomorrow.
He is four years old. Apparently it was just a bit of upset stomach as
it has ran it's course and he is back to eating normally he has not
vomited since early this morning.

Well, he seems to be out of the woods as he started grooming himself
again. Plus he ate a normal amount of food for the first time in over
twenty-four hours - at least that I witnessed anyway. He did take
several licks off the top of one of the cans of cat food I opened at
5:30 am this morning but that was it until he ate just a bit ago. But he
is still going to the vet appt I have for him at 10:30 am just in case
their is something that is not fully cleared up that might cause a
re occurrence of his earlier symptoms.
I'll post more later after the vet appt.
Thanks everyone for the purrs they seem to be working as they always do!

I took him to my regular vet today. They gave me an antibiotic, a
medicine to calm his stomach, and one to increase his appetite. They
also gave him a shot to settle his stomach and some SQ fluids. They also
took some blood for a blood panel for which I will get the results
tomorrow. I was also give some Hills A/D to help to get him to eat
again. But he is eating on his own and has not vomited since this
morning so I will probably not use the A/D at this time. The turning
point was around 9:45 am PST this morning. He started to groom himself
which he had not done since he got sick. Shortly after that he walked over
and ate some dry food. My regular vet was concerned that some thing
else was going on as well as the constipation as they said usually
constipation does not cause a fever.
So things are looking much better now. Purrs are needed that the blood
work comes back clean with nothing serious.
Thanks everyone!
