The cats were eating on the counter, where their dishes are so Bear
(the d*g) can't get them. Four tiny cats (WooToo eats in lonely majesty
in my room) chowing down. They can eat all day and do but they all
gather in the morning when I pour sojme fresh crunchies in the bowls.

Meanwhile, Bear, who just golped down his own breakfast, is "snoodling"
the food. His long, black Labrador nose is stretched up toward the
counter as far as it will go without putting his feet on the counter
(which would bring me into the picture) As the cats eat, his nose seems
to streeetcch toward them and he makes little gurgly hungry noises.

After a few minutes, Sunrise (red Himalayan, would show as a Persian
because she is solid-colored) turns her three-pound body away from the
food and marches over toward the edge of the counter. She looks down at
the outstretched nose. She looks right at ME and

WHAM, she whacks poor Bear across his nose with all her tiny might. I
hear the blow clearly and Bear runs behind my legs.

No permanent damage and they were smooching later.

Gotta keep them d*gs in their place.

LOL, 'snoodling', what a great word :-)))
Good on you Sunrise, no snoodling dogs allowed!

The thing is, she is usually the cat that likes Bear and often she will
hang out with him. He is remarkably cat-friendly and will even tolerate
Winnie and/or Sunrise looking into his food dish in the morning. This
usually results in Sunrise sneezing into his food but he doesn't seem
to mind.

When I moved in with these people I learned fairly early that Sunrise
likes to investigate hooman meals, especially if dairy products are
involved. On the other paw, she usually ends up sneezing all over your
food if you let her get on the table and do that. Bear doesn't mind but
I don't let her do it.

Bear sounds like a sweetheart. A cat may look at the dog's breakfast,
but not vice versa, LOL :-)

I would have loved to see a picture of that.  :0)  I think most
dogs instinctively know that cats are superior, and to be ph34r3d.

Cute story.  Thanks!
