The variation in temperature (both actual and perceived) in the mountains is amazing -- it was too hot to comfortably wear a long-sleeved shirt during the day (I should know, since I neglected to bring a t-shirt), but cold enough that the dog's water bowl had a layer of ice on it overnight! We're getting ang early fall up here in New England.
