Kitty prayers for "Fred" please, and a question

My good friend's kitty "Fred" is quite ill and is scheduled for
urinary surgery tomorrow.

He suffered blockage and a catheterization didn't work. As we all
know, renal failure is a fairly common serious illness for our
kitties, and many go to the Rainbow Bridge as a result.

This surgery he's scheduled for is going to redirect his urinary tract
outside his penis or something, so he can pass urine in some sort of
bypass method. Can anyone explain this? Is it successful or is it a
last ditch effort?

Thanks.

It's a very successful surgery. Good luck to Fred in his surgery. Poor baby.
Many purrs that he is much more comfortable soon.

Sending purrs for Fred. I really don't know much about the surgery,
though, so can't help there. I'm sure others will.

I haven't heard of this surgery for cats before. I'll be eager to hear

Meanwhile, we're sending our best purrs for Fred to get through the
surgery ok and to stick around with human for a good long time to come.

Lots of purrs for Fred to be much better after his surgery.

I haven't heard of it before, but that means nothing because I'm still
learning about kitties.

Purrs aplenty for Fred, from one who knows how troublesome urinary
blocakage is, and from my four furbabies. My Fritzie had blockage from FUS
many years ago, and at that time surgery was not an option. Thankfully, he
responded to an aggressive treatment program and low-ash prescription cat
food. I'm not familiar with urinary bypass, but have heard it can produce
good results. Please tell your friend that Fred is in good hands because
he's in God's hands, and we pray for safety and skill from the vets, and a
quick and successful recovery.

Blessed be,
Baha

An update -- Fred's surgery went well, and he's soon to come home from
the clinic. He's eating and is purring and is ready to get back to
being a cat at the house where he lives, with his brother Jessie (who
misses him).

So glad to hear that!!  Purrs and good wishes continuing for Fred,
hoping this solves his problem and that he's well on the road to
complete recovery.  Thaks for the update.
