Why sometimes it's not good to have a sidewalk sale

In a district of Buffalo known for its artsy little shops and cafes,
there is a place called the Lexington Food Co-op, one of the best
sources for exotic spices and organic produce to be had within miles.
During the summer months (what little we have) they put some of their
goodies out to display, and do some hefty business in organic fresh
potted herbs.

My friend Joyce went to pick up some goodies for herself and her
partner, and saw total destruction in front of the market. There were
shards of terracotta pots and clumps of soil everywhere, and aside from
racks of cucumbers saw little evidence of greenery. She ran in and got
the manager, concerned that some of the drunken college crowd came along
and decided to vent their liquor in vandalism.

"Oh Lord! My freaking herbs!!!" The manager came out and found her
little vandal: a neighborhood Siamese who was wandering about in search
of adventure, and found several pots of fresh catnip lying way too close
to the ground. Well, they did have fresh catnip at the start of
business. I was told that the Siamese was so nuked that he really could
not walk; he'd try and mutter; "Ah, what's the use; turn on the Grateful
Dead, man!" an phlump back on the sidewalk. For the next several hours
he spouted off volumes of Eastern wisdom in the way that only a Siamese
can: loudly, and frequently. As for the manager, I was told that it
turned out to be a good business day, as the furry little Deadhead
brought in customers and gave the staff an opportunity to brag about how
the produce was so fresh that Miss Kitty couldn't resist. I was also
told that the Co-op no longer puts out potted herbs for outdoor display.

Blessed be,
Baha

What a tale!  Very funny and with a happy ending, too!

I like how a  single stoned little Meezer is indistinguishable from a
bunch of frat boyz. ;)

Sound like our first Siamese, Sam.  He loved to eat 'nip and really did get
stoned when he did.  We would have to be very careful until he slept it off
as he would bite and scratch if you tried to play with him.  Not out of
meanness but due to lack of tooth and claw control.

I wish I'd seen the cat, I only heard the story. Joyce told me her eyes were
glazed over, she was swaying her head as if listening to inaudible music, and
meowing so loudly you could hear her across the ocean. She had to have been a
sight. Joyce volunteers at the Co-op, and said that the cat was there for
several hours, and very, very plastered.

Blessed be,
Baha

We haven't heard anything concerning the fate of Miss Kitty since she
went to detox.

Blessed be,
Baha
