The rare and elusive Headnox has been caught during a post-surgery-call
nap period.

And there are even rarer species variants, such as this plump
Headtyche.

Coming home from work regularly yields scenes like these.

She's not actually sitting ON his head!! I always visualized the
Headnox as sort of resembling a kind of furry turban!

On occasion the furry turban does happen--I'll do my best to get an
image of that.  I've got to wait for a chance when it's bright enough
in the room for the picture to come out, and for Nox to cooperate of
course.  These were the best I could manage today.

Then there's the Lesser Headnox, where she's on one pillow and the
sleeper is on the other (only works if there's only one human in the
bed), and Nocturne Enthroned (a dark meatloaf on the top half of the
pillow, with your head on the other half).

There's also Expand-o-Nox, where for whatever reason (particularly if
we're making too much noise or moving too much) she decides to sprawl
across the pillow as much as possible, forcing the "hume" off almost
entirely.  Sometimes enforced with kicks to the human's head.  Pillow
division:  One for Nocturne, one for the humes to try to share, usually
resulting in Dylan's head lying /between/ the pillows rather than on
one or the other.  That's fair, right?

OK, somebody's missing from this photo, who is it? Oh, one of the
stripey girls. I guess Kumani wasn't around?

Dylan has that "wha-? huh? wtf?" look on his face that one can only have
when awakened from a deep sleep.

That's Kumani on the foot of the bed in that photo.  Tyche (the
whiteface sister) was circling my feet as I took this image.  Then I
lay down for 15 min and Tyche came and slept on my head.  I couldn't
get to sleep, so I got up and took the camera and  I took the
"headtyche" pic.

PS  Kumani and Tyche's original monikers were "Darkface" and
"Lightface" until we came up with proper names.

They are sort of hard to tell apart, unless you're paying attention.
(Well, at least for someone who has only seen them in photographs.)

IT's funny because to me, they look way different (Kumani has no
visible white! while Tyche has white gloves on all her paws and a white
face) but looking at that photo again, you don't see her face.  That's
Kumani's back which looks EXACTLY like Tyche's back...as in the
infamous sisters pic

Where does one bittie end and the other begin?

It's like the opposite of Karen's sister bitties, Silver and Scout.
Those two are impossible to tell apart from their very similar spotty
bellies.

LOL! Yes! The Ear! Oh, this picture reminds me so much of Frank on his
pillow. Caliban will come up and lay on the pillow for a few minutes
once in a blue moon, but it's not the same. Miranda never does it. :o(

I don't know what I would do without a pillowcat.  Stinky has been a
pillowcat from Day One.

Out of all the cats I've lived with none were ever a pillow cat!

Were any of them hip sitter cats, or undercover cats, or
chest-meatloafing cats, or crook-of-knee cats, or between-the-legs
cats, or foot-of-bed cats, or outstretched-paw-asphyxiation cats?

We had a little poodle for nearly twenty years named Willie.  She spent most
of her life on the sofa next to me, just as tight up against my left thigh
and she could squeeze.  It is a spot every pet we've had since seems to
avoid and I could swear sometimes I can still feel her there.
