Yay!

One of the neighbors babysits a lot of kids, who all run around,
sometimes near our door as well.

A couple of days ago, I was out feeding Mrs. Wiggleworm and family,
when a bunch of the kids came around to pet her and watch her eat. One
of the little girls mentioned that she wished she could have Mrs.
Wiggleworm, because she likes to play with the kids (more accurately,
she likes the little kids to play with her - grin).

I told her that if her folks were okay with it, it was okay with me.

Later that day, her parents came over, and we talked about adopting
Mrs. Wiggleworm, and they agreed that this would be good for both cat
and kid. They promised to take good care of her, to supervise the kid,
so that Mrs. Wiggleworm isn't tormented too awfully (grin), and to
take care of her vet needs as well.

They seem like a very nice and earnest young family, and Mrs.
Wiggleworm was purring up a storm when daddy skritched her ears. I
think she knows who to butter up.

I am going to miss that little monster - she went home to Fort Worth
with them today.

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

I am so pleased that Mrs. Wiggleworm will have a stable home with a
family who loves her and will care for her properly.  Sometimes when
you cannot take in all the cats yourself, it's best to give them to
another home who can give them the best possible life.

This is what Capt. Hancock did when he let me take Smokey off the air
force base.  He misses Smokey a lot, but wanted Smokey to have a life
where he would not be in danger from vehicles, predators, idiot
accommodations officers, etc.

Oh, hooray!! It's nice to hear a happy ending.

It's sad to say goodbye, I'm sure. :(

What about the kittens? (She did have kittens, didn't she? Or is she
the grandmother kitty? I'm all confused as to who is who.)

Anyway, good going! Your house is turning into the Edwards Cat Shelter. :)

Mrs. Wiggleworm is the grandma kitty (at a mere two years old!), but
her daughter, Mommykitten has two kittens (both about nine months old
or so) - a fuzzy orange girl, who was snatched up and adopted last
month, and a grey stripey boy who is still very shy (but I get to pick
him up and  hug him at breakfast - big grin).

Far as I'm concerned the only better news than new cats and kittens and
bitties is new slaves.  Sounds like she landed herself some.

Purrs that she has a wonderful home and a long and happy life.
