You may remember the problems with FSP and that I have had tinfoil down
on the floor to curb her sanitary problems.
Thought yesterday that it was time to remove some of it at least (after
all I can't live with a tinfoil floor forever.
Took it out and put it in the bin.   When i got back FSP was sitting
where it had been, smiling.   There was a wet patch beside her bless her
Fluffy little heart, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

It may be that that all the wet weather turned her on.  It may be that
she doesn't like peeing in the rain.    There are times when some cats
can make you suicidal.

Looks like tinfoil might be permanent. Unless..like you say, she doesn't
like peeing in the rain.  Kitty FC doesn't.  I have seen her creep into my
log store in the house for a secret wee when it's been raining hard,
sometimes she disappears behind the woodburner to do the same.  If I notice
her doing it, I tell her off and she will then go outside, claiming she
never even thought about weeing in the house and what was I talking about?
As if she might do such a thing!!

I forgive her because she's old.
Boyfriend would never dream about weeing in the house, no matter how hard it
might be raining. He has 12 hours at least bladder control.
Give FSP another chance when the weather is better. Just my advice, and see
how it goes.

Do your two take care of all their personal business out of doors?  My
mother's cat, The Puddy (RB), used to do all his outside, but there
was a litter box in the basement for 'emergencies'.

Yes, both of mine prefer the toilet to be al fresco. I had a box of earth (I
figured it would seem more natural to them) in the conservatory until
recently for such dire emergencies as a bit of drizzle, but they never
seemed to use it, so I emptied it out only recently.
With all the wet weather just lately, I guess I'd better bring it in again!
I don''t have a basement.

Oh, no!!! Maybe her smile was communicating something like, "Thanks mom,
for getting rid of that nasty foil stuff sitting over my peeing spot!"

I wonder if you have to combine the tin foil deterrent with a good cleaning
with an enzyme, to get rid of the pee smell on the *cat's* level. (You might
not be able to smell it anymore, but perhaps she can.)

Bev, I must have missed something in tis tinfoil saga. What ever
happened to kitty litter, whose purpose every cat I ever had seemed to
understand jes fine?

OT, but my lady has a mini Schnauzer who is indiscriminate if he
doesn't get out. She's considered the doggy litter box we've seen
advertised, tho  that concept is foreign to me. She's had some success
with these pee-pads, or whatever they're called.

Aw shucks. Now we get cold and you get summer:(

Brad, Fluffy has a whole clean kitty litter tray not more than a paw
width away but refuses to use it, don't ask me why, sigh.  If I put her
in it she does a pee right away.  It may be that the sides are too high
so I could look at that.  She doesn't jump out, she climbs out and would
upset it if I didn't wedge something against it.   Who knows what goes
on in her strange little head.

I have now decided to put down a large mat in the doorway.  At least I
can wash that if she has another accident.   I have used a  proper pet
deodorizer I got from the vet but it doesn't put her off.

have you tried the usual tricks of changing litter and/or changing froman
open box to one of those closed up box things (or vice versa?)

I swear, you have been cursed not with an interesting life, but with
interesting cats!
