Mandy and Betsy (RB) both have/had their special favourites among human
foods, but over the years we arrived at an arrangment - I didn't leave
chicken breasts on the counter to defrost and they (mostly) stay off the
table when I am eating. Young Sam hasn't quite gotten the rules down pat
yet, and I periodically have a black furry head appearing under my arm,
aimed at the cereal with yogurt or other delicacy.
I still have to smile at the thought of the frozen chicken, though. I
think Betsy believed someone had finally invented popsicles for cats!

This reminds me of when Mir-mir was a kitten. She used to hang out on
top of me, my arm, my shoulder, anywhere she could perch. One time I was
eating ice cream and she was perched on my shoulder. As I was bringing a
spoonful of ice cream to my mouth, she popped her head in front of my
mouth with her tongue out for the ice cream. Little minx!

That's just adorable.

Furry heads and little faces appearing under an arm or a hand are so
cute! I saw your Betsy's page. I had a similar experience. I do
miss the little head popping up.

I didn't respond often to your posts, but of course I followed them with
special interest after Betsy developed the same cancer as Betty. It's a
vicious cancer.
Although I still miss Betsy, and it's a bit of a challenge covering
neutering costs when I had been told the cat was already neutered and
therefore hadn't expected that cost, I couldn't turf Sam out once I'd met
him. He's a sweet fellow, very affectionate, and of course there are, as
usual, far more cats than homes so it's not as though he's got somewhere
else to go. One of the women who gave him to me said to let her know if I
couldn't keep him, but she's allergic, and couldn't get close enough to
him to figure out he was an intact tom!
