My 84 YO mother is going to have a cardiac pacemaker implanted, and some 'minor'
cardiac surgery performed on Wednesday.
She's very, very smart, and mentally, better off than I am, I often think. For
example, she helps me with my income taxes, and virtually never forgets
anything.
Unfortunately, she's very frail, physically, with a number of other health
problems. But this *has* to be done.
I am very, very worried and upset, as you might imagine.
Thank you.

Many purrs for your mom to get through the surgery, and into
recovery, and be helped by the pacemaker. Hang in there dear.

Purrs for your mother. Do you live close by? Will you be able to be
there for her when she wakes up from surgery?

Thank you.
I live in the same city; I'll be taking her to the hospital, and
spending the day there.
Fortunately, for things like this, I don't need to ask for time off of
work: my boss is about the nicest guy you could imagine. I can take as
much time off as I need or want to, within reason.

That's wonderful; she'll appreciate it so much. Not to mention, you'd
probably be too distracted to work well anyway, so it's best to give
you time to focus on your mom.

Purrs for your mom coming from the Fabulous Furballs
Lesley
Nany4Baby - 22 Aug 2006 12:17 GMT
Many, Many BIG purrs from all 4 our of furry lords(ladies too) and
masters!!!
My Mom - who is 66 has had 2 different ICD/pacemaker implants in the
last 4 years. Both operations - and all minor procedures have gone
without a hitch. Her recovery time is slow, but steady, and she - like
your mom, is SOOO on the ball. She gets very frustrated when she can't
do all that she wants due to a physical limitation! She is stubborn too
- which I think is a good thing in these instances! I will be asking
for purrs and good thoughts for my Mom very spoopn as well since she is
having a hip replaced in a few weeks.
I expect that with all of the wonderful PURRS you are getting your Mom
will be up and about again soon! Spend the time with her at the
hospital - it ois helpful for the patient AND the family members!!!
Good luck!
